Earlier this month, the FDA approved Amneal Pharmaceuticals’ investigational agent IPX203, an oral formulation of carbidopa/levodopa (CD/LD) extended-release capsules, as a treatment for patients with Parkinson disease (PD). Marketed as Crexont, the therapy is an oral formulation CD/LD which includes immediate-release granules as well as extended-release pellets. In its announcement, Amneal noted it expects the oral treatment to be available to patients in the United States in September 2024.

So now it’s about the cost. If people can’t afford it or if in the UK the cost benefit analysis means it cannot be universally prescribed, then ………..
who would it be available to thanks for sharing
I posted this info in another forum. The drug is also known as "Crexont".
What I can't find is what's so different about it compared to other controlled release L-Dopa products like Sinemet CR
Reading the info you'd be forgiven for thinking this was the first controlled release L-Dopa ever. In particular why have they benchmarked it against standard release rather than another CR product?
sounds just like Rytary
Very strange. I searched for Crexont vs Rytary, an article apeared, i could see the furst paragraph, but i couldnt get access. When i tried a second time, instead of the article, it said "page doesn't exist".

In my opinion, these pellet medications always have a wide standard deviation (SD) that is not shown in the above graphs (figure 3; there should be vertical lines above each point). It would have been important to know this SD data in order to understand if the response to the medication is the same for everyone or subjective.
my neuro may consider switching me from Rytary to IPX203. He said the neuros need training on how to choose the right dosages and pricingt has to be provided. He thinks in my case, it may cut back on # times/ day IPX203 has to be taken. Currently, i take Rytary 4x/day
It’s show time today.! Today is my first day on Crexont I am interested to see how effective
should be interesting to see how effective it is at nite for me.my uptimes are definitely are longer and it is great having to take pills only 3x per day.
You may have to have request that Crexont be added to the insurance company’s formulary.
Crexont is not cheap (what a surprise) my copay for a months supply was about$200, but I believe most of copay assistance companies will cover that.
the capsules are large and depending how my dysphagia is I may take with applesauce. I will update my experience going forward.
Keep us updated
Will do, I think before I decide to stay on this instead of rytary, I will give it a week to settle in
Still on the med, will stay on it for a week before I make an assessment, no issues so far
Can you share the dosage transition amounts from Rytary to Crexont?
My Neuro had done it, not sure what he used for converting to Crexont, but I can tell you what daily amount I took of rytary and what he prescribed for Crexont
Rytary (5) 145s, (1) 99 taken in 5 doses
Crexont (6) 70/280 in 3 doses
I hope this helps. There are also websites that do some conversions
I just resumed taking it, 7am,1pm and 7 pm. Don’t think change of Crexont to rytary was reason I felt like crap, more likely it is ptogression.
