hi currently in A&E with what looks like cardiac asthma. I thought it was bronchial asthma when I came in but the team here think it is heart related. Any others on here have experience of this? I initially had AF which persisted for three months until cardio version, 2 years ago. Since then have been

Pain everywhere.
I've been 10+ yrs searching for answers. I had some bladder problems in 2013. Doctors did surgery. I almost died. Apparently they told me my blood vessels looked funny. They didn't know if they "knicked " me or what but I lost 8 pints of blood very quickly. They barely got me transfusion in time. I chalked

Getting a thyroidectomy soon, what to expect?
Hi, recently diagnosed with a tumour in my thyroid, so team at hospital will be removing the whole thing soon. I am overwhelmed with all this stuff I've been reading here about T4/T3, vitamins, calcium etc. I thought I just had to take a tablet every day, dosage might be adjusted if necessary, but that

I am in the throws of reading Chris van Tulleken's book Ultra-Processed People. It has been an eye opener. Not that one hasn't been aware of the harms of processed food but perhaps one has been unaware at how extensive it is and also how seemingly malicious for corporate gain? What does come out is

Prednisolone and osteopenia
Hi I had a Dex scan a few weeks ago and my bone density showed I have osteopenia, I was given calcium and vitamin D tablets to take twice a day. So would it help if I drank milk to help to augment this as I don't have milk normally but have yogurt. Thank you in advance for any replies. Peter.

Advice please re B12 to supplement or not
Following covid in July I have been experiencing tingling in feet and hands. I've left it until now in the hope it would resolve and while it has lessened it is still there. I currently take 100mg t4 and 10ug t3. GP blood test results 17 August : HbA1c 34mmol/mol (20-41) TSH 1.46 mu/L (0.3-4.2)

Corzyna
I finally started Corzyna 12 days ago . The side effects were not as dramatic as I expected . I had nausea , bad taste , dizziness and lightheadedness, some pins and needles in my hands and feet mostly . Definitely not as bad as the calcium channel blockers or nitro that I tried before . I am very unsure

If you have fibro with RA are you given meds for fibro as well ?
Hello, I've had RA for at least a decade . Earlier this year I was taken off all my medication because I could never go more than 6 weeks without antibiotics due to infections .Turns out I had a severely infected sub mandibular gland packed with calcium stones which made it impossible to have any treatment

Dexa scan normal but wedge fractures anyway!!
A visit to the Pain Clinic finally produced an MRI scan of my thoracic spine. The result show wedge fractures which the doctor described as “significant”. Also showed my lungs were compromised which was why I get breathless easily. Like Tangocharlie I am concerned because the Dexa scan I had before

Raised calcium levels on prednisolone for pmr and long term lithium
my calcium levels are raised and have been for some time. At the last blood test they were 0.61. They have been 0.64. I’m not sure when the alarm bells will ring for the medical profession. A GP at our practice would not refer me to an NHS endocrinologist. I have been to see one privately. I have done

I asked ChatGPT about Fosamax. How does the medication Fosamax fake your DEXA score?
This was the reply. Fosamax (alendronate) is a bisphosphonate medication used to treat and prevent osteoporosis. It works by inhibiting bone resorption, which is the process where bone is broken down and its minerals are released into the bloodstream. Here’s how Fosamax can influence Dexa (Dual-energy
