How I keep my tinnitus at a manageable baseline

I have had tinnitus in both ears for around five years now and have had many spikes and have spent extended periods with 10/10 tinnitus but as of now fortunately and touchwood I haven’t had a significant spike in two and a half years and am at a manageable baseline. Getting tinnitus made be become hyperaware to try and not let it get worse and recover which caused me to look and be exposed to a lot of information which has not only for tinnitus but has had profound health implications across every other aspect of my health and so I am sharing some of this information that I have been accumulating for a long time now which might possibly also be helpful for someone else.

My lifestyle habits

Water

· Only drink and cook with distilled water (removes 99.9% of contaminants from water leaving just H2O) (a distiller can cost around £50, I use two Megahome 316 deluxe distillers which are £180 each: 4 litre capacity each = 8 litres of water in 5 hours (every day/ every other day at 550 watts each = around £40 per month electric cost)) – municipal water comes from the river Thames and the filtration process cannot remove particles below a certain size so unless the water is distilled it can’t remove toxins such as; heavy metals, medications (such as agricultural run-off; antibiotics, hormones, vaccines, pesticides such as glyphosate and atrazine (study showed male frogs exposed to atrazine grew ovaries and could bear offspring) etc.) and medications urinated by other people), microplastics, PFAs (forever chemicals), bacteria, viruses etc. (it is estimated there could be more than 50,000 different chemicals in municipal water, these chemicals can interfere with cellular processes which can lead to disease). Then it is treated with chlorine, fluoride, and synthetic vitamins. Plastic from bottled water can leach into the water and is also non-distilled except nestle smart water but is in plastic and has agents added which are mentioned next

· Chlorine (chloride) (swimming pools, municipal water, bottled water), fluoride (toothpaste, municipal water, bottled water), salt (sodium) (diet, ocean, municipal water, bottled water), synthetic calcium (calcium carbonate (chalk)) (synthetic vitamins, toothpaste, white flour, municipal water, bottled water) are calcifying agents which means they accumulate deposits in joints and tissues including the pineal gland which is located in the center of the brain and is responsible for producing and secreting melatonin (energy levels and sleep) and I would also say mental lucidity and so I avoid these sources to avoid these agents (it is possible to decalcify the pineal gland over time in the absence of calcifying agents)

Good four-minute video on youtube is: love & gratitude - water testing reveals dangers of tap & bottled waters over distilled water

· If not distilled water the ZeroWater 6 cup jug + filter is £25 and gets the PPM in the water to 0 (filters one cup per minute), the filter gives around four litres of water a day for one and a half to two months then the replacement filters are £15 (cheaper in bulk and bought during discount). To make the filter last longer buy another ZeroWater 6 cup jug and when the PPM of the first one reaches 006 which is the recommended replacement PPM then still filter it through that one but then filter it through the second new one and it will put less filtering requirement on the second one which will make it last longer (when the first ones PPM starts getting high don’t use it anymore) (keep them both in the fridge to prevent bacteria growth and to save space the jugs can be kept out of the fridge and just the filters go in) (for international travel I will use this with bottled water)

I don’t drink tea or coffee but still find it relaxing to sip a hot drink so I use a double walled mug (mammoth glass 600ml) and heat the water in the microwave

Don’t put anything on skin that you wouldn’t consume because skin just absorbs it into system –

· Don’t use any or only very minimal use of non-harsh/ non-toxic chemicals, or natural products such as foods

· Wash with distilled water or ZeroWater using a small bowl and flannels, or a camping shower (I use one by Laserbeak) and stand in a tray (I use a cat litter tray 45cmx34cmx10cm) in the shower with the water in it which I first heat by adding near boiling water from a glass stockpot, with one corner of the tray slightly elevated so the water goes to one corner so it’s deep enough and have the shower pump in the water which recycles the water, wash hair with camping shower leaning over a glass mixing bowl in the sink and scratch/ massage scalp, I brush teeth with Oral-B pro 3 electric toothbrush without toothpaste and dip brush in a small cap of food grade ethanol after use and use plant-based floss picks (humble co), wash hands with distilled water and sometimes small amount of diluted food grade ethanol (100ml mixed with 37ml distilled water then put in 10ml glass vial bottle to carry)

· If I get any municipal water on my skin I rub it off on my clothes

Good two-minute video on youtube is: ewswater - chlorine in tap water watch how fast it absorbs into your skin

· Wash clothes in washing machine on 90-degree heat and sometimes with small amount of 5% white vinegar (Miniml eco white vinegar) to kill bacteria then tumble-dry them. Sometimes if I’ve been in contact with soil I use a 15l stock pot to boil my clothes with 200ml 5% white vinegar for 15 minutes to kill bacteria spores which are resistant to just 90-degree heat washing with vinegar (spores are also resistant to normal washing detergents and ethanol disinfectants). I also wash bed-linen with white vinegar and use Dettol disinfectant crisp linen to spray duvet, pillows and mattress every time changing bed linen. I also spray my shoes with Dettol disinfectant crisp linen once a week or so

· Only use pure cotton clothing (or pure wool or pure linen) and pure cotton bed-linen because plastic (polyester, nylon, polyamide etc.) off-gasses (chemicals released as gas) which enter the body (take bed-linen if go to a hotel)

Diet

· Try to eat only organic whole foods (free from pesticides and in the case of animal products antibiotics, hormones and vaccines)

· I don’t eat fish because of heavy metals, microplastics and fluoride content

· Don’t eat added sugar or sugary foods

· Don’t eat added salt or salty foods

· Use distilled water and wipe cooking-ware, plates and bowls with a cotton tea towel before using and wipe cutlery with a tea towel to get soap film off before using which can damage gut lining and kill the microbiome

· Use BPA and phthalate free plastic for water bottles and food containers (sistema) and use PTFE/ teflon and PFOA free cooking-ware (procook professional ceramic)

· I have noticed in the past some foods can have an associated effect (such as heavy metals or calcifying agent), because of this to try new foods I take a small bite and wait an hour and don’t eat at restaurants

For more information about toxins in food and environment Dr. Paul Saladino on youtube is a good source and if you go to the website rumble and search Dr. Eric Berg cancer and his videos are also a good source.

Reducing stress and blood pressure

· Mindfulness moments of stopping for periods of deeper breathing and checking in with heart beat and blood flow

· Slowing down thought - maybe try thinking or talking like Severus Snape from Harry Potter or agent Smith from the matrix: clear, calm and calculated

Exercise

· Jogging, light weight high reps and bodyweight exercises

· Many health benefits including increases feel-good chemicals to improve mental health and also helps with feeling tired for better sleep

Fasting every so often

· Eat last meal early then don’t eat again until same time next day

· Fasting activates autophagy - cells that are dysfunctional produce signalling molecules that initiates pathways for them to be broken down and whilst fasting these pathways are stimulated resulting in dysfunctional cells being broken down at a higher rate

· (Consult with doctor if necessary and increase calorie intake so to not lose weight)

Blue light

· Minimize/ eliminate blue light exposure which is strong enough to damage the eyes and suppress melatonin production which prevents sleep (bright tells circadian rhythm it’s sunrise/ daytime and time to produce energy)

· Use a low lumen projector which has eye protection technology (ViewSonic M1 mini (120 lumens) or Yoton Y3 (120 lumens)) (I bought two of the ViewSonic projectors to rotate them for continuous use)

· Use night light mode on laptop

· Wear orange tinted blue light blocking glasses (UVEX skyper glasses with a pair of no cry glasses over the top)

· Use phone with a lower PPI density (I use Motorola G13 which has 270 PPI), use night light mode on phone and low brightness and only use it for essential stuff like communication and maps and not entertainment/ periods of staring at it

Sleep

· No blue light sources one hour before bed

· Make room as dark as possible

· Don’t sleep with phone by bed/ put it furthest away or on flight mode

· Turn off electricals that don’t need to be on and don’t sleep with head on side of the bed next to a wall because electrics are interpreted by the brain the same way that light is and so it’s like trying to sleep with a light on

· Look into EMF shield canopies or faraday cages for bed which blocks radiation; Wi-Fi, satellite signals, electromagnetic fields etc. which allows more melatonin production and so deeper and undisturbed sleep, they can be expensive with the best one being swiss shield which costs around £1500, next is a cotton laced with silver canopy for around £600, but then it could also be built for £200 for a king size bed with polypropylene tubes and connectors (Floplast 40mm £44) to make a frame then aluminium mesh (vidaXL 1m by 2m X2 £107) held together and connected to the frame with 100x2.5mm cable ties, as well an aluminium mesh sheet under the mattress as a grounding sheet, then the mesh attached to the frame and the grounding sheet then connected to a wire that leads to a grounding plug (emf-protection complete grounding kit £50) (just a grounding mat connected to a grounding plug can have benefits (make sure to leave the plug switched off as it doesn’t require electricity coming from the socket, electricity goes to the socket to be grounded))

· Use a dirty electricity filter plug to stop socket and appliances from generating excess electricity (emf-protection dirty filter plug £35)

· Sleep with a fan for background noise (EasyAcc mini has a consistent sound unlike many I’ve tried which have an inconsistent or scraping noise which is no good for sleep in my experience) and a mp3 player with a speaker playing 9000hz white noise

· Have classic FM on a sleep timer or a talk, lecture or podcast

And for the mind or mental health learning about non-duality helped me arrive at a place of peace and contentment. The basic message is there never was an individual and regardless of what is experienced there is already everything which is whole, or wholeness, and is already free from the need for anything to happen and so is complete, there's just absolute freedom, and it’s the experience of being an individual which covers that over or hides it. Jim Newman on youtube talks about non-duality and does a good job in my opinion at expressing this freedom. But then another thing that also helped is that it can't be ruled out that there is not an intelligence that is the universe or all energy and therefore includes 'us' so we are that intelligence and that is who we really are, again we were never an individual and we were always the oneness and are just as much everyone and everything else as much as the body we are looking from. But regardless of what happens, including an intelligence that is the universe, there is already everything which is whole, complete, and free.

You make some thought provoking & valid points, however, I believe life needs to be a balance, and not too extreme. With your lifestyle, which is entirely your choice, and nothing wrong with that, I am very surprised that you use a microwave??

I’m so sorry but I got my t thirty years ago it was very loud but it did improve,

However if I had read your post all those years ago and fortunately there was no internet to taint my recovery,,,, gosh I would of been extremely anxious by what you have written,

I still drank coffee and tea, I drank alcohol

Enjoyed cheese and drank water from the tap and went swimming etc

There were no changes xxxx

You have to live your life x
