Parathyroid bloods, calcium
Hi everyone ❤️ It's going to take all my energy to write this post but here goes, first I have no thyroid removed due to graves in 2019,on T3 lactose free. I had blood tests done I think it was Oct which showed a slight rise in my PTH being at 8.1...my calcium was only slightly raised, my endo did this

Flecainide maintenance dose with beta blocker
Just back from appointment with my cardiologist. My holter monitor that I had on last week showed around 10000 atrial ectopics but no atrial fibrillation. That’s a massive amount to have and I felt pretty poorly. He did say that they were all benign and wouldn’t cause any damage. Upshot is I’m now starting

Sodium Phosphate in frozen turkey.
Have you noticed that sodium phosphate is injected into frozen turkeys? (Maybe not all, but the one I bought did.) It preserves the meat, makes it retain water soo you don't have to baste it, makes the turkey look better, and saves the store money. There should be a warning label on the package, just

SUPPLEMENTING INTO (OR OUT OF) A HEALTHIER LIFE?
Okay, I realize most hypo or hyper thyroid patients take hormone pills, T4 or T3, NDT or combo’s of these. But, I also realize that vitamin supplementation is needed and, in fact some thyroid problems are, ostensibly performed by osteopaths that many claim have helped them considerably & a combination

1.25mg bisoprolol
I’ve got my cardio appointment on Tuesday and I suspect that I’ll be going on a maintenance dose of flecainide. The cardio on the last appt suggested that I’ll have to take 1.25mg bisoprolol, the lowest dose. This is due to my blood pressure average being around 115/75. I’m aware that beta blockers reduce

Feet and leg cramps
Could I be under/over-medicated, as I have been getting chronic night cramps in my feet and legs. I am out of bed @4 times a night with this awful pain. I am taking "Sirdalud" muscle relaxing med's when I go to bed, but it only seems to last a couple of hours, then I am awake with the dreaded cramp again

Artificial Oocyte Activation.
Hello Again all. After my consultation yesterday regarding my Complete Failure to Fertilise, my embryologist has suggested we try Artifical Oocyte Activation. Has anyone used this method before? As far as my research goes its basically a 'Calcium Bath' that my egg is dipped in once injected using ICSI

Home after 4 weeks in hospital
What a horrible 4 weeks. So after a year no infections with Bronchiectasis and being so careful around Covid ended up getting Nephroctic Syndrome of the kidneys. Still waiting for full biopsy results but it gave me awful fluid retention and I swelled up from ankles to abdomen even gave me small pleural

Pacemaker question
Met with my cardiologist last night. I had a very good day heart wise yesterday with no ectopics at all. That is very unusual for me. I had a severe afib event on Monday and had taken the maximum 300mg dosage. My cardio advised that the flec would probably been out of my system by yesterday. I was fitted

Timing of/taking supplements
Hi I already take quite a few supplements ie vits/minerals etc. Take magnesium, calcium, multi Bs, Omega 3, D3 etc. I've only just been more aware of the timing of taking them, when alerted to possible iron level issues with RA. As I'm also vegan, I have tried to separate certain ones like magnesium

ELEVATED ALKALINE PHOSPHATE
I had my gall bladder removed 3 months ago after elevated ALT, AST, and ALP enzymes. Ultrasound confirmed fatty liver and gallstones. I reduced my sugar and carbs, ate steel cut oatmeal every morning, and increased fruits and vegetables. I lost 20 pounds, my lipid panel improved greatly, and my ALT

Government Vitamin D
Hi. The clinically vulnerable are being offered free vitamin D for 4 months. The Government email I received today says you have to opt IN to get them. However, one of the contraindications they mention (“how to take vitamin D safely”) is ‘some cancers’ because of raised calcium level. Have any of you

Dexa scan results / Osteopenia
Hello all, I hope everyone is getting through these difficult weeks. Just wanted to share my dexa scan results; Spine normal, Total hip normal, Femoral neck Osteopenia with a T score -1.6, and Z score -0.9. Wondering if anyone has had similar scores and if they were prescribed calcium / vit D. Trying

Vitamin D
Does anyone at MPNVoice now the answer to this please. I have been offered the free 4 months of Vit D supplements by the government. However it also says that having cancer may mean you cannot take Vit D as some cancers cause high calcium levels. I have ET and am taking HU. Are we able to take this supplement

Timings of thyroid meds, calcium and HRT
Hi. I've had an appointment with my endocrinologist this morning, and he would like me to try taking my thyroxine at night (to see if it helps with sleep), which is actually what I did years ago before being told by a nutritionist I shouldn't. The trouble is, I now take HRT at night (progesterone tablets

Calcium deficiency?
On prednisolone for 9 months - does anyone know if it’s PMR or the pred which might cause calcium deficiency? About 3 months ago a bit of a molar broke off and yesterday the same thing happened on the other side of my mouth. Plus my nails have become very soft and are splitting. I can’t get in to see
