Hello lovely people . I have really benefitted from advice on this forum as regards medication following my total thyroidectomy. I have been prescribed high doses if calcium supplements and since taking them developed very dry mouth at night, to the point of my mouth burning . Tried calcium carbonate and calcium citrate but the symptoms are not improving ; in fact, getting worse. Luckily, I don’t experience it during the day and reducing the calcium dose from 1200 mg to 800 mg , improves the situation at night but I then get painful muscle cramps, which doctors attribute to low calcium levels in my blood.

A week ago, I started to take Armour thyroid , 1 grain, moved quickly to 1.5 grains, without side effects so all is well ( was. advised by Roseways to get to 2 grains within a week, but warned by this Forum to go slowly). I am hoping that calcitonin in Armour will help and I can ditch calcium supplements but feeling somewhat miserable sgbiresdng due to jsvj if dieto
