What do I do next?
I really stuck as to what to do to next with my health. I hope someone can help. Apologies for the length of the post! For Context: I am a 29 year old woman and I have been suffering low level, 'vague' but frustrating symptoms for a number of years. I have not been diagnosed with anything but the symptoms

Steroid taper when ending Zytiga
I am coming off ADT. Last Lupron injection is wearing off. I will stop the Zytiga soon as well. I am trying to skip the 4 hour drive to MSK for an appt to have labs done and setup a steroid taper. I assume the taper is just a new schedule that reduces my dosage over time. Thought i could handle that

Treatment for ulcers in vagina
Hello, just curious to people experience using Daktacort or Betamethasone Valerate cream for genital ulcers. Also if there are any other recommendations for treatment in this delicate area. My consultant prescribed me Betamethasone Valerate however my GP has prescribed Daktacort so I’m wondering why

Insomnia with Dexamethasone
Hi I was diagnosed with PMR in January. I was prescribed Predisolone at first which caused stomach problems. I am now on Dexamethasone which gives me Insomnia. Has anyone else found this and have they found anything that helps ? My GP prescribed Melatonin but I haven’t found this particularly helpful

SLE and fibromyalgia?
Hey guys so I recently saw a new Rheumatologist and he said that I had both fibromyalgia and SLE. I'm only 20 by the way. So here I am quite baffled about everything. I'm here because he started me on dexamethasone because the prednisolone was so much harsher on the stomach however as I've started it

Effect of chemotherapy on RLS
It might seem strange to be asking about chemotherapy, but a few years ago I had breast cancer and was given a course of chemotherapy as part of the treatment (successful as I am still here!). As soon as I started this my RLS stopped completely, and for over 5 months afterwards I was still clear. Then

Help! Any experiences with Ozurdex implant?
Hi! Sorry if this is a long post, I'm new! Bit of back story; few years ago I was diagnosed with eye cancer and received proton beam therapy treatment for it. This worked excellent and killed off the tumour! As expected I've now begin to lose my central vision due to a bleed cause by radiation damage

Radiation Therapy
Me again. My dad just had his first consultation for radiation treatment. So many questions after we left as this particular Doctor was absolutely horrible. Needless to say we won’t be going back to her, but now my dad does not want radiation treatment. He is 94 and just recently diagnosed with Bone

Are high doses of prednisone dangerous for my cirrhosis?
I recently started getting what looked like canker sores which eventually covered the inside of both cheeks, tongue, and gums. I saw someone in my doctors office who gave me dexamethasone and carafate mouth rinses. They did nothing. I saw my dentist, who was completely puzzled and sent me to an oral

Vitamin D - Latitude / Calcitriol
(Latitudes shown below are for the center of each country - more or less.) It seems well-accepted that multiple sclerosis [MS] is a 'latitude disease'. The idea has been around for at least sixty years & there are currently 257 PubMed hits for <"multiple sclerosis" "latitude">. In Europe, the UK (Manchester

Steroid pump for secondary adrenal insufficiency with traumatic brain injury
Hi. I’m new on this site but I wanted to share my AI stories, answer some questions and hopefully find some more resources to help us with this challenging condition. I’m reading that a lot of people on this site seem to be taking their steroids orally. I too was started on oral medication, dexamethasone

The story so far lol
Hi all, I eventually got a phone call from my consultant, yesterday. He said my esr was raised but not too much. He is referring me to an endocrinologist, but still maintains that because my serum electrolytes have been ok, that my adrenal glands should be functioning ok... However, he will still refer

I'm new here...
I was diagnosed with ITP April 2018 with a platelet count of 1,000. It's been a rough journey trying different medications. I tried prednisone, dexamethasone, Rituxin and nothing worked. I had an IVIG in the hospital and my counts rose to 12,000. I am currently taking N-plate every week and its keeping
