Pelvic MRI on Thursday at MDA
So, thirteen months ago I’m at MD Anderson and bone scans reveal metastasized prostate cancers in bone and lymph nodes in hips - rib cage and sternum as well. PSA was 96 and Gleason was 4+4. Since then the cancer has been suppressed and PSA is negligible. This was accomplished by a combination of injections

AC225 whilst Chemotherapy Naive
So my Father's PSA has risen whilst on Zytiga and after switching to Dexamethasone. Although that switch from Prednisone did it bring it down for two consecutive months. My father had a recent PSMA scan which shown multiple bone mets but shown the cancer does express PSMA. Am I correct in thinking

Hiccups after chemotherapy
My husband started chemotherapy with immunotherapy on Monday. With it he had to take dexamethasone steroids and has had hiccups ever since. He had chemotherapy for 4 sessions at the end of last year and had hiccups but they went as soon as he finishes taking the steroids. These hiccups have now been

PSA down further and starting Docetaxel today
PSA continued to drop from 0.41 to 0.232. Just started my docetaxel today plus zometa and Lucrin ( ADT). Feeling a bit 'hype' after the treatment. Could be the dexamethasone. Managed to get some rest and feeling fine. Oncologist has asked me to stop the Zytiga when I am going thru the docetaxel treatment

A possibly interesting publication revealing 10-fold increase in inflammatory molecule in microvascular angina patients.
This post is rather long. My “Google Scholar Alerts” have notified me of a possibly interesting abstract relating to the physiology of microvascular angina (MVA): https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/abs/10.1161/atvb.39.suppl_1.348 The abstract shows that the tested MVA patients had elevated levels of a

Discouraged
Been taking zytiga with trelstar a year now since diagnosis. Initially psa fell quickly from 352 to undetectable, but since May has been doubling monthly. Today it is 0.97. 😔 I sure was hoping to be on this regimen longer. I go back to dr next Thursday. Hoping to try switching prednisone to

Please, help with cortisol
Hi everyone, I’ve just received lab results of low dose Dexamethasone suppression test Cortisol morning <0.03 (0.17-0.50) Doc said it is good(???). I guess it means that I don’t have high cortisol. How about low cortisol? I also tested privately vit D result 66 (65-225). A while ago it was 95(50-150)

LUPRRon OR ZOLADEX
Along with Zytiga ( abiraterone) I am on 3 monthly injection of Zoladex ( gosarellin). My PSA is undetectable. I have noticed that most people seem to be on 3 monthly injection of Lupron. I’m in Vancouver Canada. They both do a similar thing but has anyone tried the 2 or switched from one to the other

Going off steroid
Hi Everyone, I developed cataracts in each eye and the eye doctor believes it is from the Dexamethasone I have been on for the last several years. It was only .5 mil. per day, but enough to cause them. My oncologist told me last week that I could stop taking the steroid. I stopped last Wednesday and

Psychiatrist fired daughter as patient over thyroid! (Or maybe because of her pushy mom regarding thyroid...)
We are in the US. We had a follow up appointment with the psychiatrist last week for my teen daughter. He has made no medication adjustments in over 5 months...just wants to keep things as they are. Her mood has been *more* stable, but she still has some periods of hypomania, and the depression isn't

Hormonal Vitamin D & PCa Aggressiveness.

LOW PSA BUT CT SCAN PROGRESSION
On Zytiga/ prednisone and Zoladex for 14 months. PSA went down to < 0.008 in October 2018 and slowly rose to 0.026 in April 2019 and then drop to 0.016 in April 2019. Read my profile for more details. Above seems great yes? But I have a C3 neck tumour grown from 5 mm in September 2018 to 20mm end of

Low ferritin?
I am continuing my quest for a diagnoses and/or treatment for my hypothyroid-like symptoms (fatigue, weight gain, feeling the cold etc). I was finally sent to an endocrinologist (due to higher than normal cortisol levels, they then discounted Cushing's through a normal low-dose dexamethasone suppression

Do steroid bursts work and do they have the dreaded side effects?
I react very badly to dexamethasone (apparently 4x stronger than prednisone) and wonder if 2 to 3 week 'bursts' of dex has worked for others who have extreme reactions to it and if the bursts give them/you the same side effects as longer doses. I have an appointment with my haematologist in 2 weeks
