I paid for full bloods having stopped B12, B comp and Vit D. The aim was to check for anaemia and have an active B12 test?
Based on previous blood tests posted, I wanted to have active B12 test. St Thomas' Hospital confirmed I needed to stop supplementing for 4 weeks. So as a pre active B12 I decided to stop my vitamin D3 too and pay for an essentials blood test as it is nearly a year since I was last tested and my GP

Losartan or Rivaroxaban side effects or triggers, or pure coincidence? A further update.
Further to the excrutiating pains I described in earlier posts about Rivaroxaban I had another blood test 23 days ago. Within 24 hours a doctor rang me to give me the results. He explained that one test showed the amount of inflammation in my body. It should have been around 15 to 20, but was at 130

Lab won't test for B12 and Free T3 even now that GP has asked twice.
Should I just go private? I notice Blue Horizon mentioned on this site. Also, I'm on a maintenance dose of Vitamin D3 (1000) after 1 test, but lab won't test again for a year so no idea if it's helping. Should I ask to be referred to an endo? How could I phrase this to GP?

I have a painful throat. Previous ultra sound showed cysts either side of my thyroid but not on my thyroid anyone know what that means?
Just signed up! I have an apparently normal 2.7 TSH but following an ultra sound on my thyroid I have been told by my Dr that I have cists on either side of my thyroid, but not on it. A couple of these are calcified. The Dr has prescribed 25gm of thyroxin - T4 levothyroxine sodium, daily (6 weeks ago

Is there a link with underactive thyroid and circulation problems?
In the last 4 weeks I have had pins and needles in my hands, and been aching all over. I went to the GP who said I was Vitamin D deficient (confirmed by blood test) and apparent thyroid dosage still correct 100mcg. I have been taking a Vitamin D3 supplement but not much has changed - some improvement

My adventures with the beasts
My adventure with "The Beasts of PMR GCA and PREDISALONE" so far. For the last few years I have had problems with pain in my lower back and hips. This was a long story I was seen by a back specialist put on Amatrytaline and an MRI scan ordered. I was told to watch out for signs of urinary difficulties

MEET ME… I AM THE MODERN CAVEMAN…
I am the modern caveman. In a man-made high tech world, I am ashamed to live…… Wait a second…On second thoughts…… My body is the result of billion years of evolutionary perfection. It can put any modern man and his technology to shame. No single Genome project can unravel ME completely. A century

Limited mobility/tendon issues. . . am I alone?
I have had horrible pain between my shoulders for months now. My rheumy gave me an ultrasound and determined that while I had some deterioration/arthritis, it was most likely a tendon problem. The plaquenil helped me not have that nagging horrible pain daily, but I was taken off it due to anemia.

3 months into Dr P's protocol, 2 months of candida diet - still not feeling good but now TSH is very suppressed??? CONFUSED!
I have Hashimotos. After 3+ years of going back and forth to my gp with continuing symptoms I decided in February to bite the bullet and go to see Dr P. Dr P advised a short break from my thyroid meds and then to reduce my thyroxine to 50mcg (I was taking 100mcg Levo + 10mcg T3). Also to start Nutri

Calcium and Vit D
Morning All, I'm looking for some feedback. After seeing the Endo and getting lots of tests done. I have been informed I have low calcium and very low vit d levels. I have been given Fultium D3 800 IU take 4 a day and Calceos take 2 a day. Is this the norm?? Endo has been discussing the fact that

D3 over load
My last blood test showed that both my calcium and D3 were at a normal level, when I ask about still taking the adcal-d3, I was told to continue.. The past few weeks my pulse has been racing for no reason, and I have been having to go to the loo for a wee, lots more... So I think I've got too much

Weight loss and hormones the facts as I experience them
Hello Thyroid lovely's, I had to share with you all about my massive 4 stone 4 lbs weight loss and how it happened. Being misdiagnosed for years as being a nut job, I spent 90% of my time in bed ill and severely depressed. I gained a massive 6 stone and felt a useless fat blob. After countless

I failed miserably today.. bumming.
My legs are driving me nuts. No one in my family seems to get it that I don't just pass out, my legs keep me up. I tried running slowly mid day on lunch break yesterday.. no success. My legs were even more crazy. I did slow stretches, wall walking on several occasions.. I broke down crying in the

New to the site- these are my blood results.
I am new to the site. I recently had my blood tested as I am not feeling well: I need a lot of sleep to not feel tired (at least 9 hours); brain fog; my energy crashes out of the blue; always extremely, uncomfortable cold; I sleep with 2 layers of clothes on as well as a warm duvet and electric blanket

Vitamin D may help severe asthma, + some of my own story.
Its been a long time coming but I think at last the NHS are beginning to recognise how helpful vitamin D can be for lung patients. Here is an official recognition with the emphasis of the word 'May' help severe asthma. Check out the articles below: NHS Choices: http://www.nhs.uk/news/2013/05May

I was diagnosed with PBC in August last year and had gall bladder out in December. I have felt fine for the last 3 mths but have to say have been disappointed this last 2 weeks with having symptoms I thought were linked to gall bladder problems and long gone. I asked my consultant if i was absorbing

Eyesight and Thyroid ...any link?
I have never had any problems with my eyesight but since having RAI last year I have been having difficulties with my eyes focusing. This is particularly problematic when driving, using the computer or watching television however I am noticing it getting increasingly worse and I am experiencing a seasick
