Vitamin D confusion
Hi all At a recent appointment with the practice nurse for a blood test, I asked if she could find the result of my Vitamin d level in my records. She could not find any record of it and so suggested we just add it to the blood test request on that day. When the results came back , GP phoned to say my

Extra virgin cod liver oil, or EVCLO
As I'm always interested in searching for new supplements, I thought that I would try cod liver oil, like my Mum used to give us as kids. Then I happened on the EVCLO, found it to be far superior from what I have read, so going to buy it today. Reasons being, strengthen our immune system, as with Hypo

Help needed with how I am feeling.
Hi guys, Since l last posted I have been to see Dr HM privately, he is a brilliant and caring doctor. I have a shopping list from him for my doctor to sort out. I was concerned that my ferritin was high and my B12 low. My doctor didn't see a problem. Dr M said I should have a fasting transferrin

Adcal-D3 caplets
Today my query is about taking Adcal-
D3
which my surgery has changed from
Calcichew
. The Calcichew was not a problem to take as they could be sucked or chewed, I kept mine by the bed and had the morning one before I got up and the evening one with yogurt.

Worth a try?
Hi everyone I have been asthmatic since my mid 30's probably caused by a bout of pneumonia when I was 35. I was on a blue inhaler for a few years after pneumonia until I needed a brown inhaler. I have been using my inhalers for nearly 20 years. (I am now 54). About five years ago my asthma was really

Do I need to fast before blood Tests?
Hi everyone, I have managed to get one of my G.P's to test me for Thyroid antibodies, Vitamin B12, follate, and Ferritin. He is unable to request free T3 and T4 and Vitamin D3 as the lab will not allow it. I have made an appointment to see a Professor Bowen Jones in the Wirral as I have had enough of

Here we go again! Next stop - private?
It's been a very disappointing & stressful day. I saw an NHS Endo in July this year, he was nice enough but I didn't get the vibe that he was going to be a lot of help from the beginning. But I managed to get some more blood tests ordered from him with a follow up appointment scheduled for today. Well

Adcal Dosage
Could someone please tell me what the recommended daily dosage of Adcal-D3 750mg tablets is? I am on 4mg prednisolone and do not take Alendronic Acid as a result of a good Dexa scan result. I have just realised that my latest prescription advises 4 tablets a day, which is double the amount I have previously
