The MAO inhibitors phenelzine and clorgyline revert enzalutamide resistance in castration resistant prostate cancer
I am not using enza (yet) wondering if it's worth taking some nutmeg to keep those mao in check anyway! :-P https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-020-15396-5

Smear test problems
So I went for a smear on Tuesday and it was pretty awful. She couldn't find my cervix and I was bleeding (because I'm always bleeding). She tried all different sizes and had me lying on my side at one point but no joy. She said I'd have to come back in 6 weeks. Has anyone else had problems with smears

Ovarian cancer recurrence
Firstly, hi to anyone who may stumble across my post. Long story short, I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer back in 2020. I had an ultra radical debulking surgery in August that year, followed by 6 rounds of carbo/taxol and maintenance via olaparib. I had a CT scan back in August which highlighted

First line of treatment
Well, I finally got to see my oncologist at Fred Hutchinson cancer center today. And finally a treatment plan! This all took time because I moved from South Carolina to Seattle for cancer treatment and to be with my kids. My oncologist was grateful I had done all the tests and biopsies prior to my appointment

Oh so yes probably good idea for B12 injections! She said she will write to gastroenterologists (I thought

Finally diagnosed after twenty years!
I have finally got a diagnosis of IBS after at least twenty years of endoscopies, colonoscopies, scans, investigations, etc, etc. Strangely I feel much better even though they say it's a lifelong condition with no cure. My problem today is that it's after half past six in the evening, I have had one

Raised Liver Markers - Octasa/ Mesalamine?
I started taking Octasa for Crohns in October 23. Just had blood tests (for another issue) and dr called to say that my liver enzyme markers were raised (ALT 255, AST 99, ALP 239, GT 334.. all substantially above the top end of normal) and they want to do an ultrasound to check my liver. The only difference

everything feels weird
hi, I had a panic attack February last year and I’ve never been the same since. I’m now struggling with depression and anxiety , everyday feels a struggle to get through. Everything looks and feels totally different from what it was like before the panic attack and I am constantly thinking about it.

Hi - and welcome! My name is Donna - I facilitate this support group for The PBC Foundation - Health Unlocked. If you are new to your diagnosis, first of all, take a breath. It’s ok. We all, myself included, have been exactly where you are right now…. scared, unsure, mad, sad, and so much more. Stop

Xeloda and Zoladex?
Hi everyone, hoping someone can help clear this up for me. Last week I shifted to Xeloda from Piqray. I asked my oncologist about whether I continue with monthly shots of Zoladex, which are administered by my GP, and she seemed a bit unsure, then said no. I left the hospital without much confidence and
