calprotectin level 2000

hi looking for some support, I have always had a sensitive tummy but during pregnancy I got really poorly and had so much stomach pain fatigue etc nothing was ever pin pointed until about 6 months after having my daughter where I had another agonising flare up, I did the tests they asked for and my calprotectin level was above 2000 they referred me for an urgent endoscopy THIS WAS 8 MONTHS AGO still nothing and I’ve since had two more terrible flare ups, I get sickness stomach cramping like labour, pains in my bum terrible upset stomach foul smelling etc and horrendous fever like symptoms sweats and aching legs it’s really awful! I chased with my doctor and the endoscopy unit at the hospital and keep getting pushed back! Has anyone had anything similar? Any tips to get seen ?? I feel so ignored and upset by it all! Have looked at going private but so expensive - might be my only option soon 😭

Hi sounds like UC. I have had most my life . It started when I was around 12 received medication after lots of tests. I have a few flare ups over the years I beleave due to stress. I'm now 51 and had another flare up last year my calprotectin level was over 6000 specialist was very shocked I'm now on meds again and diagnosed with UC. Keep calling your doctor!!!!

I would try and get your doctor to refer you to the Gastroenterology department at your local hospital. Could be Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's Disease and they will be in the best position to investigate it.
