I am doing the clothes washing and emptying the dishwasher. As normal it is all triggering my asthma. Have people found dishwasher tablets and washing liquids which are better for your asthma.

Asthma, pneumonia A&E and admission
Well it's day 3 of my treatment for pneumonia with oxygen, rescue steriods antibiotics and neubs (if necessary). I took myself to A&E on Thursday night as I thought my asthma was flaring and not responding to my salamol. Turns out not asthma but low oxygen levels and pneumonia. The nhs were at there

After recovering from chest infection , asthma flare up and asthma attacks. I still have a productive cough and have to sleep sitting up. My peak flow hasn't recovered yet and is 400/500. Update - "Any advice?"
Hi all 👋 I posted about a month ago when a chest infection led to a pretty bad flare up, which I am only just starting to recover from from now. 😔 Thanks for all of the advice on the last post, as it really helped. I had a follow up appointment with my consultant on Friday, which did set some steps

Eosinophilic Asthma
My consultant at the hospital suggested I have this type of asthma. Apparently your white blood cells attack your lungs. I was put on a one year study and I’m now permanently on the injection once a month. In the US the brand name is Nucala, here it’s Mepolizumab.

working out fev1 as a percentage
Hi I've bought an asthma-1 Vitalograph FEV1 to monitor my asthma between appointments as I don't think peak flow really shows my asthma up very well. When I blow into it it just shows a number eg 3.87 , not a percentage as it doesn't measure FVC and there's no instructions in with it other than a diagram

Do I still have asthma?
Hi,I was diagnosed with asthma some ten years ago after having moved to a new environment. During the first winter, we renovated our "new"house (actually some 15 years old). It was a lot of building dust flying about. One morning on awakening, I had trouble breathing so off I went to the hospital

Consultant wants to take me off inhalers
I had an appointment with my Respiratory Consultant and he's questioning my asthma diagnosis because my last set of breathing tests were normal. He said that you would expect to see something on the tests that indicates asthma and that even though I have a formal asthma diagnosis on my GP records he

2 year old asthma
Hi, it looks as though my little girl has asthma. She has all the symptoms & has already been in hospital 3 times treated for an asthma attack. Because she’s under 5 they are very wary of diagnosing her at the moment, however she does have a brown inhaler which she has before bed & in the morning plus

Blood Tests
Hi, I have weird asthma, am on maximum therapy and wondered what effect high dose antihistamines and prednisolone have on your blood test results. Every time I ask my consultant I'm told it's irrelevant, also is our medication taken into account when we complete breathing tests? The technician who

Spirometry and children's asthma

We're running a short survey-based study to understand more about how children with asthma experience spirometry and would be grateful if you could complete this – or share with your friends and family. This 10-minute survey asks about children's

Still don’t really know if I have asthma or not
Hi, I know I’ve posted similar to this before but I suppose it’s because I don’t know where I stand in terms of breathing/ asthma status I do also have anxiety which I’ve received help for but I still feel on edge with the whole I might have asthma thing. I have had tests which haven’t revealed anything

Asthma
Can anyone recommend household cleaning products that are suitable for asthma sufferers? Most of the products available in supermarkets seem to aggravate. Many thanks for any recommendations.

Asthma during respiratory infections
Hi, I've been asthmatic since I was 2 years old and am now considerably older than that. Despite 45 years of experience I really don't have a good understanding of what to expect from asthma management. I use a low dose Flixotide preventer inhaler every day and salbutamol when required. Day to day you
