trimbow in asthma

Just started on trimbow after using Spiriva Respimat and Symbicort, and the steroid component is just not enough to keep my asthma under control. Has anyone ever used it together with fostair or symbicort? I know one isn't supposed to but maybe some consultants prescribe two steroid inhalers?

Thank you

I think it's best to call your consultant who put you on it first rather using others. If it's not enough they should change it. Good luck

Oh I am not going to hear from her for another month sadly. In the meantime I'm looking to see how other people's experiences are with trimbow. Hence my post. I'm going back on my old routine for now, taking Symbicort plus Spiriva.

Why dont you phone her via her secretary, I used to do that with my consultant you cannot wait a month

I did that. For all emergencies either asthma nurses who have no clue or AE

Hi Science,

I liked Spiriva and Fostair, which I also was not meant to take, but when I asked for this combination I was put on Trimbow!

I find it's effects run out quite quickly.

Really liked Spiriva and Fostair.

Hey anng! Thanks for sharing - what did they give you when you said to them the trimbow effect runs out quickly?

I'm actually so glad to know I'm not alone in this impression because I was getting anxious that my asthma must be really bad if the highest trimbow dose just isn't cutting it...

Hi Science,

They did not give me any other medication. I was told that I was on the best medication and they wouldn't change it back to Spiriva. This was both the GP and the new COPD nurse. I also mentioned that my weight loss seemed to correspond with when I started taking trimbow - they'd never heard of this, so that was ignored, as well.

Hope you have better luck!

I take Trimbow for COPD & find it not strong enough, but when I asked for the strongest dose they said there isn't one, so who is wrong.? or is it more expensive maybe.

Yes they are commonly prescribed together. The question is whether "trimbow" can be prescribed with another steroid inhaler like fostair. For many of us trimbow alone isn't enough. I'll discuss it with my consultant. Just thought some people on here know more.

Not what you're looking for?
