I spoke to my GP again last week and she has said that it is now people with

who need to shield. So my status is still severe but the govt have downgraded the risk??????? Has anyone else had this experience? I now go out for short walks, nothing more has changed for me.

Why seretide is the first course of action for asthma...Why not some steroid free treatment to start with?
Hi everyone! I am new to asthmatic life! My issue started with heart palpitations and acidity, got nexium then later I started feeling SOB, initially Dr. Said it's bronchitis and then gerd induced asthma and now asthma. My question is that do I need to stay on seretide course because I cannot differentiate

When To Take Medications
Evening fellow asthma friends. Question. I am on Symbicort 200/6. I take one puff in day and one puff in eve. The doctor tells me I have six remaining puffs to play with as needed. What does as needed mean? Whenever I feel any asthma symptom? The problem with that is I often feel asthma symptoms that

Mouth breathing in asthma?
Hi all, just wondering how many of you find you breathe through your mouth as opposed to your nose a lot/most of the time? It's something I've grown up doing and I'm not sure whether it's common in asthma or just a bad habit I started in childhood.

Hi, for those of you who supported me with sound advice (thanks so much) l thought l would share with you the outcome of my abnormal routine bowel screening. l finally had a phone call to have a Colonoscopy but l did not want any invasive procedure if it wasn't needed so l asked for a CT of the bowel

Asthma Attack
Hi - I was wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice. I have suffered from asthma for quite a few years and this has always been under control until a couple of weeks ago. I went to work as normal (I work in a hospital) and must admit I didn't feel brilliant when i got up anyway after speaking

Is laparoscopy worth it if I'm not in severe pain? (Severe endo)
2 years ago now I started getting mild pains and UTI symptoms. After multiple dipstick tests (that showed no UTI) I was referred to gynae, then an ultrasound (2 cysts and adhesions), then an MRI (severe endo all over the bowel, ovaries and bladder). I've been put on Triptorelin shots to prepare for the

Bad asthma flare-up - looking for advice
Hi everyone, I've been having a scary time of it recently. I've had several asthma attacks this week (pretty bad ones, I think) and I'm now on prednisone to try and get things under control (my first dose was this morning). My chest is pretty tight currently, but no attack today, thankfully. I'm pretty

Asthma Mystery
Hi! I have been diagnosed with asthma. When I wake up in the morning my lungs ache and I feel chest constriction. The strangest thing is, as soon as I eat (doesn't matter what it is), I can breathe better. My respirologist said he has never heard of this. Could this be something like GERDS, or something

Here we go again!
I managed to get the first flight home from Portugal on 1st July. Since then I’ve been having all sorts of problems with my tummy. I have a stoma and it’s been unpredictable and painful. My CA125 has gone from 30 during chemo to 70 after chemo (prescribed Leterazole) and is now in the 100s. Obviously

What products help you most with your PRD symptoms?
Hi, I volunteer for PRDA as a fundraiser, and I am keen to get businesses to donate to PRDA, especially those that supply products that people with Pelvic Radiation Disease find particularly useful. Please could you reply with any information about your medication, medical products (such as continence

Asthma and smoking..anyone smoke??
Hi all hope your keeping well, I'm having trouble with stopping smoking and I feel like my asthma is constant but my peak flow and oxygen are fine. Is it possible that thinking about the asthma to much is making it worse? And does anyone here with asthma smoke?? How does it make your throat feel if so

Weird new allergies and non-allergic asthma
Anyone else have this issue? I have severe non-allergic, non-eosinophilic asthma, but also have hayfever - which is a bit weird but I have read up on it and it's possible; seems to be mainly trees. I have triggers including floral scents such as lavender, rose, violet etc but they just trigger asthma

Starting Xolair Treatment..but nervous
I’m 38 years of age..asthmatic since age 1..I’ve always experienced asthma flare ups but since my teenage years I would say I’ve successfully controlled and lived a normal healthy life with asthma. Last year my asthma took a dark turn, I came down with a bad strain of flu..hospital..breathing rehab etc

This sounds like a stupid question, I know.
I wonder if others are clearer than I am about susceptibility to any respiratory viruses if you have asthma? I am thinking if your asthma is otherwise well controlled, not if you are going through a bad spell. I am asking as both my husband and I are over 70, so currently clinically vulnerable, but he

Asthma and acid reflux
Hi there, I have been struggling with my asthma for the past 2 months and wrote about this previously, I have had all sorts of medication but nothing seemed to work.
