colonoscopy perforation risk
I saw my PCP and told him there was rectal bleeding and he immediately said I need a colonoscopy. However, the last time I had one I almost got a perforation. The doctor had to stop the procedure. That was a year ago. During the procedure I felt a burning, searing pain which was not normal so I know

Initial Phase 1 Data on MB-105 for Patients with PSCA-positive Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer
From what I understand PSCA is highly expressed in prostate cancer cells but also in other kinds of cancer and also in other tissues (in small amounts), and its production increases as the disease progresses, making it a better target for later stages (but this is my speculation!). What is important

Eligard
My PSA keep rising. Today, PSA went up to 2.25.1 from 1.1 (March). Doctor told me that he never had a patient Eligard does not work at all at the beginning. He asked me to go thru with PSMA scan and start to take Xtandi. He said there is a possibility I may also go thru with a testicle removal surgery

European Medicines Agency approves Phase II trial of uTRACE in prostate cancer: good news because they also have uTREAT
While uTRACE is a diagnostic tool, its brother uTREAT will be a very interesting radioligand for drug delivery in the near future (like Actinium, Lutetium & Co) uTRACE is used as a PET-tracer ligand that targets the uPAR receptor, which is known to be a biomarker for cancer aggressiveness. https:

Dad with Advanced PCA :(
Hi everyone, I am new here and appreciate any assistance that could help my father. My dad is 73 years of age. Over the last few weeks we have gone from a raised PSA level 8.9 (up from 6 in 2022 and 2021, 5.1 in 2020), Negative DRE, to an MRI (PIRADS 5, SAG T2) to a positive biopsy (10 cores taken,

Enlarged Lymph Nodes on MRI and CT
Hello, new to this. Never posted before, hoping for some insight. Gleason 7 (4+3) PSA 6. Bone scan clear but lymphadenopathy in groin nodes (inguinal; iliac nodes). Does this mean spread? Being sent for a PET Scan Friday.

Tripple therapy - ADT+Lynparza+Xtandi
I just started Lynparza in addition to Xtandi and Loupron. I don’t have a BRCA mutation, but I was told that Lynparza may be beneficial regardless. I finished cycle of Jevtana (7 infusions) and Xtandi. My PSA was 0.74, but now it has increased to 2.3. All other tretments and history are in my bio. The

EMBARK Trial: Combination-therapy is better.
This chart compares the risk of developing metastasis from prostate cancer, after 5 years from curative treatment, between three different arms of the EMBARK study (published in 2023): (1) Lupron monotherapy; (2) Enzalutamide monotherapy; and (3) Enzalutamide + Lupron combination therapy. 3 Abiraterone tabs in place of 4.
Warriors Some time back I posted that my MO had told me to take 3 Abiraterone tablets with 5 mg Prednisone daily instead of 4 to help with an out of control Blood Pressure problem. I was worried (as were some of the responses) that this could impact the ADT therapy. Recently had blood work done

Ketogenic diet alters the epigenetic and immune landscape of prostate cancer to overcome resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapy.
Overall, this strikes me as too hypothetical for us to apply, but what do I know? "Overall, these findings illuminate a potential clinical path of using HDACi and optimized KD regimens to enhance ICB therapy for PCa." HDACi = histone deacetylase inhibitor [To date, four HDAC inhibitors, Vorinostat

Do Colon Cancer symptoms typically last this long without worsening?
So I am 24 year old male. I had a really bad bout with health anxiety about 6 years ago and one of my main fears was colon cancer. My bathroom habits have always been impacted by my anxiety but my symptoms got even worse when this particular health anxiety happened. My anxiety has become more manageable

Any adverse effect if taking three-month Lupron shot two weeks late?
Hi friends, my father has been on Lupron shots every three months with Abiraterone pills for about a year now. His next shot will be 14 weeks due to some insurance problems. What is the ideal and acceptable time range between shots that won’t risks benefits of treatment? What is the out of pocket price

If PSA is Suppressed by Doublet ADT, Will Salvage IMRT Cause a PSA Rise?

Hello. Am now in year 10. Details in profile. For 2+ years have been taking Zoladex, Zytiga and Prednisolone. The CT bone scans and Nuclear medicine full body scans every 6 months show no radiographic progression and I feel ok, apart from fatigue when not active. Recently have some discomfort

10-year update still shows no benefit to ART vs early SRT
ART
= adjuvant radiation therapy, within 6 months after radical prostatectomy (RP)
early SRT
= salvage radiation therapy, after PSA ≥ 0.1ng/ml or 3 consecutive rises. Median was 0.2 ng/ml. Median 1 ½ years after RP. Patients risked nothing by waiting, and gained urinary and fecal continence
