HDR Brachytherapy after the 20 fractions?
Hi all I have recently finished 3 x Lu-177 and 3 x Docetaxel infusions whilst hormone sensitive. I have been on Degarelix since November so no idea what's doing what but but my PSA has fallen from 17.6 to 0.19. STAMPEDE type scans showed I would benefit from radiotherapy to the prostate which I can

MTC/Thyroid
Hi all, 5 years after thyroidectomy due to MTC I'm having the most awful episodes with racing heart, chest tightness, tingling in extremities, dizziness, nausea and a sort of giddy feeling. Had ECG and heart was fine, BP also good. GP thought it was anxiety and prescribed Xanax for the short term. I

TERRIBLE UTI FEELING FOR A MONTH POST SURGERY.
Hello ladies. I am having the worst time with intense bladder pain post diagnostic lap. UTI come back negative for infection so it appears its not bacterial. Anyone else had this experience and able to offer advice? It's crippling and much worse than the pain I had pre surgery. I can't bear more weeks

A List of Screening Tests For A High PSA
A 73 year old friend had a PSA test that came back @ 50 . He is not afraid, is cool and analytical. He can afford to have any out of pocket testing and treatment . He wants to understand the status of his prostate cancer before having any treatment. He is asking if there is a list of screening tests

Pain from Chemo attacking cancer? THANK YOU
Hi everyone Thanks for the responses to my post re the above. Happily the pain started to subside but I made an appointment for a checkup with my GP and he could finding nothing to worry about after having a good prod around and asking questions, and agrees it was probably the Chemo doing its job.

Something to concern myself with?
Hello all. In 2015 I had a cardiac catheterization as I was experiencing some chest pains that thankfully was totally clear, in fact the cardiologist said he'd have to get a microscope to find any plaque!! I was 62 then. But! What is playing on my mind is he put in the report there was some abnormality

CT Results are In
Looking for your wisdom, good people. What does “Spleen: Small splenule” mean? I read about the need for a sulfur colloid scan to determine if it’s cancer. Nothing else to note on the CT scan. PSA is 5.12, up from 4.32 on 4/8, up from 1.6 on 12/10. Bone scan shows no evidence of metastasis. Thank You

Growth inhibitory effect of doxazosin on prostate and bladder cancer cells. Is the serotonin receptor pathway involved?
Doxazosin
, an alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist, is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hypertension. Alpha-adrenoceptor antagonists also inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in malignant prostatic cells. The apoptotic activity is independent of their capacity to antagonize

Need for Cystoscopy?
Quick recap of my situation: RP in Sep 2019 for G9 w/SVI, LN+, and high risk Decipher. RT 8 months later along with 24 mth ADT (just finished). About 2 months ago, I noticed a drop of blood coming from my uretha at the tip of my penis. My urologist ordered a CAT scan (which was clean) and cystoscopy

Can Mirena work if desogestrel doesn’t?
Hi, I’m new to this group and hoping for any advice please. I’ve been diagnosed with Adenomyosis (by ultrasound) but not Endometriosis as they say I won’t have a diagnosis without laparoscopy. I’ve been on Desogestrel for over two years which has definitely helped with the pain but the bleeding is still

Really wet nights - 9 year old
We are struggling with how to help our 9 year old (very soon 10) - he has primary enuresis. He is getting very conscious of his wet nights. We have just been camping for 4 nights and 3/4 he was wet so much it came through everything (he wears a drynite) and through to his air bed. The drynites are

Suggestions for keeping urine collection bag from slipping down leg
My 78-yo husband has to return to using Foley external catheter & bag, likely permanently, and is asking those with experience for suggestions to keep the leg bag from slipping. His previous experience has been unsuccessful with the slippage so bad that he carries the leg bag around in a bag or bucket
