Has anyone found anything that really helps with OAB? I've tried Oxibutimin and solifenacin, solifenacin helps a bit in the day but I'm up to the loo about 6 or 7 times (sometimes more!!) in the night and I'm quite exhausted. I would love to hear of something that really works ....desperate and at the end of my tether...

overactive bladder
My husband has been taking Betmiga, Mirabegron 50mg along with Solifenacin which seems to help, he too has tried others but this seems to be the best so far.
I have the same problem, but with me i am ok for a while then suddenly it's up and down all night i take oxybutin.
I am taking betminga (mirabegron) and Endep which have been helping me a lot. I also find caffeine makes my bladder worse
Agree re caffeine BUT I do love my morning coffee!!!
Thank you for writing about being up so much at night. I am up every half hour to pee. I am so tired--I now look like I am 100. No, I just feel like I am 100. I feel like a zombie all day from being up so much at night. I have actually fallen asleep on the commode--fell off--flew into the side of the bathtub--broke a bone in my neck. Small bone but stoved it and it hurt like I had been in a car wreck with a truck! My grandsons thought it was hilarious that grandma fell off the pot.
Many elderly fall going to the toilet at night. Having nocturia is really terrible because one is fatigued all the time. My husband used to wake up 6-8 times a night. It has improved taking xatral and Honopure. He now goes 3-4 times.
I put a urinal next to the bed at night for him, to eliminate the risk of falling when you are half asleep going to the toilet. My 92 year old mother has a commode chair next to the bed at night too.
Those are practical solutions that will save you from a fall.
I have been taking 10mg of solifenacin and 50 mg of betmiga for 9weeks after the solifenacin alone suddenly stopped working. It has been a rocky few weeks but there had been definate improvement. I am trying to manage what I eat and drink and to try and get over the psychological aspects ( ie panicking if I feel the slightest twinge).
I think the combination of the two works best but it takes time and I feel doctors can be so unsympathetic. This is a horrible condition to live with snd and I feel Ive had to fight every step of the way. I am toying with the idea of going private and finding out if botox into the bladder would give better relief.
I hope you find something that works for you.
Hopefully you manage to find something that works. Keep pushing with the Doctor. I know it's difficult but, as someone said, it's their job.
I eventually asked for a different GP who was much better but, there are still hurdles and long waits to see a urologist. I got so stressed trying to live with this that I have decided to try for private treatment. The Betmiga and Solifenacin do help but they're still not perfect and I selfishly want a near normal life.
