Bisoprolol
I have been on Bisoprolol 2,5mg for 10 years and during this time have been in Afib fairly regularly every 6 or so weeks. It usually lasts 12 - 24hours and then converts to NSR. In May I had Covid, and had 3 separate bouts of Afib within a period of approx 10 days. I increased the dosage to 5mg daily

Going abroad on holiday with AF!?
Hello , A month ago, my AF returned after 6 years AF free following Ablation in 2016. However this time it seems to be with me every day for at least 12 hours on and off. It seems to settle when I lay down and rest and overnight. But any exertion ramps it up. Thankfully my heart rate stays steady

Down hearted
This is going to be long winded but it is getting me down. Those of you who have read my posts will know that in 2020 i had two stents fitted one in each artery which led to so many things appearing, frozen shoulder in one arm tennis elbow in the other. Due to walking as part of my rehabilitation i found

worried about my dad update
hi everyone, thank you so much for all your responses to my post last night my dad had his echocardiogram this morning but they were unable to get a clear picture as they said his heart rate is too fast, he’s also possibly got a leaky valve? I’m not sure what the next steps for this would be, the

High Potassium
I have had the results of my second blood test, and unfortunately I have been told to stop my Entresto. I have also had the Bisoprolol stopped because it was lowering my heart rate to much. I am a little worried now because until I see the consultant on the 6 October all I am on is the Apixaban to

The anxiety is real!
I keep coming back to add more... I think I must bore people with always talking about my health just now, but its so helpful to get things written out... My previous posts will show my background in more detail (and have had some very useful and kind replies, thank you!)... but briefly, a couple of

Who else
ok so I have suffered with AF for about 5 years if that is the correct term. I tend to have more symptomatic events during the night. If I have an event around 3am it will tend to keep me awake and last a couple of hours. The problems it causes me is when I would normally get up for work between 6/6.30

High Potassium Levels
I was diagnosed with HF in July this year, I was hospitalised for twelve days, and discharged with Bisoprolol, Apixaban and Entresto, the lowest dose. I have just had a blood test which I was found to have to much potassium. I am having a repeat blood test today, and if it’s still high I have been

One week post ablation
Seeking reassurance from those of you who are ahead of me. Generally I'm feeling fine. I've had a couple of brief migraine auras but thanks to the factsheets I didn't feel alarmed. However, during the course of the week my pulse rate has become faster each day and reached 119 today. No sign of arrhythmia

Is BHF using AI?
Has anyone else received an email from BHF along these lines: "Looks like you have experience with Bisoprolol, can you help Prada47?" The email linked me to Prada47's post, which mentions Bisoprolol but isn't asking for any help. So I just wasted a few minutes of my life. It's hard to believe that

Tapering from 2.5 to 2mg and feeling like I’m drunk in the morning
I’m not drinking, so it’s not due to alcohol This effect occurred on wk 1 of a slow taper schedule (actually I’m using DL’s, but the method is somewhat immaterial). Recover sufficiently about 2 hours after 2.5mg. I suspect it’s adrenal related and my level of cortisol is insufficient, 2mg of corticosteroids

Cardiologist Today another Medications
I saw the Cardiologist today and came away with another Medication, Dapagliflozin.10mg daily. My GP had written to the Cardiologist to see if he wanted to titrate my Medication downward due to a lower Blood Pressure . Today my BP was 109/70 HR 63 and he said he was quite happy with that as long as

Perfusion MRI results
Hello all I have just received some great news following a second MRI that my heart is now normal with no defects present following viral myocarditis and ongoing sensations of pain during up hill exercise. The results letter does not specify whether it is appropriate for me to now stop taking heart

Cardiac Care
Hi there ! Is everyone with A/F supposed to have access to have a cardiologist or access to an A/F nurse? I was diagnosed with A/F in 2011 and have not seen a cardiologist since. I paid for a private consultation with an EP who was keen for an ablation - I was not at that time - and I haven’t

Chest pain and perimenopause
has anyone had symptoms of chest pain, hot flushes and nauseous due to the perimenopause? I've looked back when my symptoms started and it seems to have all started when I came off the combined pill. I'm awaiting a CT scan for my chest pain and on Bisoprolol and aspirin untill I get my scan due to family

Ectopics
Good evening. I have recently been given the option to begin Flecainide for my ectopic heartbeats or learn to live with them (I find this very difficult). I've had open heart surgery but although successful, it didn't stop the ectopics at all. I've been on bisoprolol which I don't feel has helped

Just joined the Ablation Cub

I just wanted to thank all the wonderful people on this forum from who I have learned so much about AF and gained the confidence to go ahead with the procedure.... and yes I read and

Bisoprolol side effects.
I started taking 1.25mg Bisoprolol daily yesterday and feel absolutely shattered and sick. I’m having dizzy spells and genuinely am too tired and queasy to do anything. I’ve read on here that others have suffered this and it wears off, but how long could that take. Also I’ve read that others have switched

Arrhythmias
Afternoon all. I was wondering if anyone can give any advice into the use of flecainide to treat arrhythmias. I have just finished a telephone consultation with an electrophysiologist who has suggested this drug alongside the bisoprolol I currently take - it's only 1.25 and I really don't think it's
