Hi

Has anyone suffered with breast pain whilst taking heart meds please?

I'm on clopidogrel, bisoprolol, ramipril and atovorstatin after angiogram and stent.

Thanks Lily

Hi Lily. Could you tell us a bit more please. Was your stent inserted recently? When you say breast do you mean the soft tissue or in your chest? After my heart attack and stent I was uncomfortable but for more than one reason, 1) one of the meds didn't suit me, 2) I had a gastro infection immediately after the procedure and 3) it does take time for the heart and chest to feel 'normal'. Perhaps a chat with your GP .might be a good thing in case you need a medication change?

I note that you are taking Ramipril: one of the side effects are musculoskeletal aches and pains in the chest area, disconcerting but mine subsided after a few weeks on the med.

HiNot sure how long ago you had your op but I'm 6 weeks post open heart surgery for a mitral valve repair and I am still getting breast pain / ache. You are pulled around a lot during the surgery so I have put it down to this. I've yet to find a bra that I can wear all day without getting uncomfortable! I'm also on bisoprolol and hadn't put it down to this at all as its not listed as a possible side effect on the patient info leaflet. Best to mention it to your cardiologist or GP.

Yes, I had stents last Nov and noticed intermittent breast pain afterwards. Though only on left side. It seems to have largely gone away now.

I would notice chest pain more towards left side but put it down to hiatus hernia problems. Take bisoprolol am and pm and really find it helps greatly with my afib.

I was lucky and didn't experience any pain at all.

Hi there, I was taking bisoprolol for 4ish months after having episodes of rapid heart rate. I had a tight chest and also used to get pains in my right breast, more to the right side and sort of through to my armpit. I’ve stopped taking them recently and the pains seem to have stopped .... but definitely speak with your GP x
