I discover your website because my daughter Sara (4 years old now) had
biliary
atresia
and became a new liver in October 2014 (14 months old). I'm interested to know how it works in England and foreign countries. Did your child have a lot of medicines, did they live a normal life?

DeliverEgypt. My 10 week old Kasai surgery
I have read all of the comments regarding the families with children with
Biliary
Atresia
, they help and give me hope. Egypt is a fighter and a joy.

DeliverEgypt - 11 week old - 1 week post Kasai
Who knew that this time last week my baby would be diagnosed with
Biliary
Atresia
. The hospital admission, test, and then Kasai surgery were all surreal. I can't believe it, didn't want to believe, cant even face it. Saddness, joy, dispair, anger, confussion, greif, denial, but most of all Hope.

10 years on from biliary atresia
Our daughter was diagnosed at 14 weeks (very late, the NHS Trust paid compensation) She was operated on and the surgeon held out little hope of success. Her ascites got worse, and the only prospect for recovery was a liver transplant. Weeks went by without a donor, by now it was Christmas. It couldn't

Tune in this Sunday!
She talks about her daughter who was born with
biliary
atresia
, and we hope that listeners will get a strong awareness of childhood liver disease and the work CLDF does. It would be great if you could tune in - or it will be online here afterwards: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07q2gbs

Direct bilirubin
Does a direct bilirubin of 2.2mg/GL (conjugated hyperbilirubinaemia) detected via blood test) in baby always means health issues like
biliary
atresia
or other? Any chance baby could be fully healthy despite the blood test result? His poop is still mustard yellow in color.
