iron panel blood test
Hi all, I have quarterly iron Panel blood test booked on Wednesday.
Do I need to stop vitamins with biotin in for an iron panel blood test please?
Or is it just for thyroid blood tests that biotin is stopped? Help appreciated, thank you.

Crack in cranioplasty
I had a TBI when I was 6 years old and had plastic fitted into the back of my head to close it (cranioplasty). Some time ago however, I started getting some sudden pain (once I felt an electric current running through the back of my head; at age 40). After an MRI and CT Scan, it was found that I somehow

How to prepare for my thyroid test?
Hi all, I’m on the following routine and wondered what I should do with my thyroid medication the day before the test: First dose: 3am - 125mcg Levo, 5mcg - T3 Second dose: 11am - 2.5mcg T3 I will do the test around 8am ensuring I’ve only had water. So should I NOT take the 11am T3 dose the day

Looking for some guidance. This group has been really helpful in shedding some light on my health issues. My story - 3 years ago was diagnosed with breast cancer right in the middle of the pandemic. 8 rounds of chemo (got Covid in round 4), surgery and lastly radiotherapy taking me to May 2021. Got

Pain all over
Hello everyone hope you all had a good holiday. As some might know I had a brain tumor removed in 2019. I've had some problems but I'm wounded if it could have triggered fibromyalgia. With all the pain and problems but I'm afraid that I'll sound like a nut job if I ask my doctor.????

Niacin B3
Is there any research into the reported benefits of Niacin B3 on small Lp ? There seems to be some interest on the topic but not much evidence to support the idea that B3 reduces Lpa.

can T4 go below range and then come up without any help?
I've been treading a long road trying to get help for what I believe is a hypo issue since at least 2015. My T4 has been bottom of the range for most of that time. I had an annual health review in June and my T4 was 10.4 range 11-23. TSH was 2.01 range 0.35-5. I was flagged for a retest which I had today

Has anyone tried Niacin for RLS?
I found this study while I was also researching the use of Niacin for increased energy, as well as weight loss. Here is an Abstract that I found during my research. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/26334234_A_case_report_of_niacin_in_the_treatment_of_restless_legs_syndrome

I'm so frustrated with my GP!
As per the title really! I'm incredibly frustrated, and frankly angry, with the standard of care - or rather the lack thereof - that I've received from my local surgery. I initially went to the doctor 18 months or so ago complaining of feeling constantly exhausted, gaining weight, and struggling to

Testing for effectiveness of B vits
I'm having cancer treatment and as some may recall, have several co-morbidities. I've added B12 lozenges and Thorne basic B to my pharmacy intake. Firstly, how long after initiation should i test to see any improvement? It's 4 weeks so far. Secondly, an idiot question - do i need to test separately

Would love to hear levothyroxine initial/beginning treatment anecdotes! 😁
Looking to hear people's stories of their first few months on levothyroxine. I'm still going through a roller coaster of symptoms... and I'm a month in. Tell me how you felt, symptoms, comparisons to how you normally felt before, when you starting feeling more like yourself... more detailed the better

Preparation for testosterone test?
I have a testosterone test scheduled for Wednesday morning at 8:30am. I am hoping that some people here might be familiar with this test in addition to tests involving thyroid issues. I know there are several suggestions for people having TSH tested; I scheduled the testosterone test for 8:30am assuming
