I found this study while I was also researching the use of Niacin for increased energy, as well as weight loss. Here is an Abstract that I found during my research. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone tried Niacin for RLS?
It's well known that deficiencies in vitamins B1, B3 (Niacin), B6, B12, D3 and K2 can make RLS worse. Since this was only 1 person, it is likely she was deficient in niacin.
Why not give it a try? Try looking up restless legs on pubmed with Nicotinimide Riboside. There’s some great info about NR, and NR precursors like Niacin, helps with many things and is a cutting edge supplement in the anti aging community.
I take it at onset of RLS. It helps until RLS kicks in again. I take energise effervescent tablets from Aldi (soulable). One a day. Niacin 42.8 mg is included. Which is a high percentage of 268 percent. It includes high dosage of B6 and B12 which has helped me over the years.
I am currently taking niacin to improve blood circulation and reduction of LDL cholesterol but it doesn't seem to cause RLS which I've eliminated by avoiding inflammatory foods.
Lots of niacin choices - Niacin is currently available in immediate-release (IR), sustained-release (SR), and extended-release (ER) formulations that differ in their dissolution, pharmacokinetic, efficacy, and safety profiles. I take a product called Slo-Niacin for cholesterol management.
Niacin gives me a “calm” feeling but I haven’t tried it for RLS. May do so!
