DBS Neuropsychiatric evaluation pretest
Can anyone please shed some light on what is involved in the 4-Hour Neuropsychiatric pretest evaluation? I'm scheduled for DBS surgery on the 28th of February. I'm not a great test taker and I'm worried.

Periodic paralysis and thyroxine
Hi I have serious issues taking my thyroxine medication. If I take too much or my TSH goes too low I go very weak and my legs either won’t work properly or I’m so bad I can’t get off the floor. I’m fully aware of what’s going on during these attacks and never faint this can also happen from any form

Biotin
Hi all, I am wondering whether adding biotin to my diet would be good for my hair or not because my cancer is estrogen strongly positive. Could you please share your experience?

Is it ok to take iodine and biotin?
Hello I’ve read on here iodine shouldn’t be taken by hose with Hashis. I’m getting fed up having loads of different bottles of vitamins and so was exited when I came across a daily vitamin spray which would reduce the number of separate vitamins I’m taking to just one. I’m a big fan of Better You sprays

High TSH on T3 & NDT
Hello everyone. Right before I start on this one I'm a fairly long time member of the board but I'm not around much because since being on NDT and supplementing T3 I'm getting on very well and tend to be able to gauge whether I'm over or under medication by how I feel, or so I thought. (currently taking

Mechanism by which Alpha synuclein causes neuronal cell death found

Supplementing with Biotin &/or Inositol
Just used the Search Box,but decided to post to get answers after trawling for an answer to my query. Is it a good idea to supplement with either of these B vitamins if underactive with Hashi's?If so,why? I rarely eat meat, but I do eat all other foods.I supplement already with B vitamins: B1,B2,B5,B6

Boston Scientific VS Medtronic DBS
I’m curious if there’s anyone that has had their Medtronic unit replaced with a Boston Scientific. If so, what are your impressions and experiences.

Moved to new condo, he is falling everywhere
Hi, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. Tuesday Jan 22, my husband had his neuro appointment checkup. They upped his DBS devices to 3.7 & 3.9. Doctor said he seemed he was doing a bit better. I bought him the Parkinson’s walker, with the laser. Hand grips to release wheels. It’s been helping him

Having DBS done?
I was wondering if anyone out there has had DBS. My doctor says nows the time for me to get it, and I would like to talk to other people who have had it done, and have they had a bad side effects from it. I live in Chicago and am thinking about going to RUSH hospital. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Why is totally suppressed TSH only for post thyroid cancer patients
If this question has been asked before...sorry, I missed it. I know that Drs often times want post thyroid cancer patients to have a suppressed TSH to keep cancer from returning. If suppressed TSH keeps it from returning, why wouldn't one want it suppressed to keep thyroid cancer from starting? I just

Anyone ever thought they had a brain tumor?
Hi guys, So my health anxiety tends to come in rounds. Recently, I've thought I had a brain tumor. For a while, I was able to narrow my infrequent headaches and what not down to the fact that I lift and have a straight spine in my neck region; however, I found that having a straight spine in my neck

Tapentadol and Headaches. Do they go away? Has anyone experienced this?
Headaches on Tapentadol? I’ve just started Tapentadol ER 100mg x2 3 weeks ago from spine problems, chronic migraines, and CRPS. I had been on fentanyl patches 37.5mcg for several years, doing wonderfully with a healthy quality of life, but my insurance company kicked me off of them - I’m in USA and apparently
