Well, here I am
Hello everyone! So I find myself here after 55 years of walking about with an ASD totally unaware of it. It turns out the heart murmur mentioned in a routine medical in my twenties wasn’t quite so innocent. I had a day of feeling tired, then persistent palpitations that were stopping me sleeping. When

An interesting thought
I have had Afib paroxysmal on and off for 10 years. I now take 2.5 mg Bisoprolol each morning and have since had no Afib attacks or wobbles. However, my Apple watch always says I have Afib, and any time I have an ECG it says I have Afib. Yet I appear fit as a flea, can do manual jobs and work, etc

Severe Cold, to Bronchitis; PMR has not returned
Had gotten a cold that became tenacious, as after 1 week of a head cold it progressed to my chest. A week later I had Bronchitis for the first time in my life and starting with week 3 my GP put me on a Prednisone routine of 40 mg, 30, 20, 10 over a course of 10 days. As if that wasn’t enough, she

HCG tests where?
I see people posting the HCG tests every few days. Is that done by the NHS? Is it something private or you can do at home? in any case where do you book the tests? Thanks

Hospital update
hi all Had my first hospital assessment this afternoon but the Registrar said I wasn’t typical of Angina symptoms. ECG was ok but she’s sending me for an echocardiogram and ct scan to be sure. She did wonder if I had a lung problem due to being an ex smoker (only for 2 months) and having had radiotherapy

EKG results
Well I made it to sunny France (actually very hot an humid) and have just managed to get my heart ultrasound results emailed through. To quote cardiologist’s report I have « very mild aortic and tricuspid regurgitation » and « Interatrial septum is aneurysmal that is bulging into right atrium, although

Hello I am new here
I wanted to understand is it normal to have some anxiety over heart health. I am 23 man, overweight, non smoker, from the UK, like my cholesterol, bp, ECG. stress test I've had have been fine. Despite the symptoms I get (chest tightness, arm pain and jaw pain) the doctor are not concerned and assume

ECG Flappy gaps?
Hi awesome people, This is an ECG taken on my iWatch on waking this morning - still laying flat in bed. I’m currently in yet another Amiodarone-suppressed episode of PAF. Currently approx 36 hours. At least the Amio is keeping the heart rate lower, but I seem to be getting more episodes

NT-proBNP test shows over 1800 (2,255) Does it indicate heart failure?
Latest info: When I saw my doctor, having experienced some worry about this test, he was immediately aware that the high BNP level was directly attributable to my permanent AF. He explained that he had only asked for the test to establish a 'base level' for my proBNP reading and despite the relatively

Blood tests
Hi I have just switched over from antiplatelet Clopidogrel to anticoagulant EDOXABAN following detection of AF on a LINQ ECG implant. My GP has asked me to get a blood test and is suggesting tests every 3 months. I thought a benefit of the drug was no need for blood tests. Anyone got experience to

Hypertensive Urgency/Emergency Blood Pressure >180/120
In the UK we are advised by NHS 111 or our GP to head to the A&E department if our blood pressure spikes greater than 180/120 and there are one or more additional symptoms. This happened to me twice in the past 6 months (never happened before this in 20 years). The first time it hit around 250/120 and

Hi there. Nice to meet you. Don't be anxious. It doesn't hurt. And it will go away.
Good evening. My name is Michael and I just joined looking for a place to find support for those struggling with anxiety and depression. Some of my first anxiety attacks were on my Birthright Israel trip in late May of 2011. I knew I was depressed since about the second half of 2008, having my first

Is flecainide a good drug?
I have been very low profile of late because I had nearly two years free of AF - then it came back last Wednesday with a vengeance and refused to go away... This resulted in a trip to the doctor's and then A&E on Thursday because the rate was quite high, blipping up to 150+ bpm. To cut a long story
