late implantation ?

Just looking for some advice really …

I went to the EPAU yesterday for scan and bloods as I had a positive pregnancy, which has turned out to be a false positive.

I’m on CD 35 and I got my peak OPK on the evening of CD 23 around 9pm.

My scan showed a nicely thickened womb lining (with a white fluffy appearance according to the sonographer) with ovulation evident in the left ovary with a corpus luteum there. She said everything looks great and positive for where it should be in my cycle and my lining is thick enough to support a pregnancy.

However, my HCG came back at less than 1 and my progesterone at 38

I’m currently on cyclogest progesterone pessaries due to 4 previous miscarriages and to support my luteal phase

I had sex on CD 20, 22 , 24.

The nurse said even though the blood test shows no pregnancy, if I don’t get my period in a week to take a test as I may not have implanted yet - but I don’t understand how that can be possible as I’m 13DPO today. She said to continue the progesterone medication for a few more days just to see where we’re at.

Just feeling confused, as I don’t think implantation can happen this late, and I’m not sure what day I even ovulated on to work this out.

Hi Amy. So am I confused. The corpus luteum shows you ovulated, but the CCG says you’re not pregnant. Maybe wait and see, but usually hCG. Should show up around seven days after embryo implantation. Good luck. Dian

Hi Diane,

Thank you - yeah it’s confusing - I’m going to test on Friday morning. Should I still have a corpus leteum at that point? I thought it would of broken down.

Do you happen to know if the corpus leteum still starts to break down as usual if not pregnant on cyclogest?

Thanks

Amy
