About me
Hi all. Just introducing myself as a new member. On 1st April this year, I started feeling like I was getting heart burn or indigestion. Didn't think much of it. Popped to the shop for a couple of things for my wife, who had pulled her back. When I got back, it felt much worse. I took her things upstairs

Should I be concerned about lower resting HR on bisoprolol?
I had my first recorded (though probably 3rd in 3 years) AF incident on Sunday and have got 1.25mg of bisoprolol and 5 mg x 2 pd of apixaban. I am a runner so my resting overnight HR is usually low, say mid 40s. My heart returned to its normal rhythm on Sunday night after about 19 hours in AF. So now

How to talk so my consultant will listen - advice please 🙏
Since my diagnosis, I’ve had ongoing cardiac symptoms but they seem to have grown in frequency since mid January. I have had a couple of reviews with my GP and the decision was taken to stop my dapagliflozin - fine. Additionally, my presyncope symptoms have been getting worse and it’s now been recommended

A&E day trip (plus a thank you)
hello firstly thank you for the responses to my “shaking” post https://healthunlocked.com/bhf/posts/149337429/shaking?responses=149341170 I did wait till this morning, it was the chest pressure and tightness in the night (not usual for me) that gave me the final push after deciding to sleep on it

Whenever I feel that life is tough, I remember a quote by someone anonymous, "Ups and downs in life makes it going. Even a straight line on an ECG means you are dead!" Fair enough. But being a Doctor I know that too many fluctuations in an ECG too, are life threatening. I've been quite vocal about

exercise anxiety
I used to be a kean, regular runner and back in July 2020 I went running in extreme heat and didn’t feel as energised as normal and felt very lethargic and my heart rate showed readings of up to 208bpm and quite erratic. Again I just put this down to exhaustion. Anyway cutting a long story short, I felt

Over the top life stress causing symptoms after heart blockage
I’ve been suspecting that I may have a couple different things, including Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, because of my continued chest pain & heart symptoms (one month post a 70% ventricular block and stent) and because of the extremely stressful things I’ve been dealing with. What treatments have you been

Celebrating the run
No runs for 12 days, to think that on that last one the NRC app gave me a badge for running 6 weeks in a row... I had good reasons not to run, a painful arm after my flu jab, a wisdom tooth out and of course, all that ice and snow. Husband has been having aches and pains so there's been no peer pressure

FCR-6plus years in remission - am I cured.
Had my 6 monthly telephone consultation yesterday. Still in remission with wbc at 5.7 and all in normal range. Super. So, I get round to the question “I know there is no cure as such but am I heading that way?” Answer; the nature of CLL means I could stay in remission for years or next time be heading

Angiogram and Right Cath.
I was in hospital last week for tests to see if I could have a Triclip procedure or open heart as I have severe triscuspid regurgitation. My cardiologist had referred me for these tests and said once they were done, the team of dr’s would discuss the results and give an opinion. I had an angiogram,

R.TEST 3
Today I started the r test 3 the ecg machine is driving me nuts already an alarm keeps going off. This is because the cardiologist set a low and high heart rate atm mines low with high spikes but it's going below what the rates are set at it goes off if your heart rate stays to high or low for set amount
