Gp refuses to prescribe T3 as previously prescribe my old gp and refuses to increase T4 as apparently my thyroid result is normal ( I don't have one ) no mention of the T3 10 mcg plus T4 75mcg what's the point of this ? Apparently this abundant in detail result shows I don't need an increase in T4 after refusing me T3 ? It says absolutely nothing ? I'm drained, iv lost the will

I'm afraid this is the extent of GP training, you need to ask for a referral to Endo, have a look through the Thyroid UK list (request from admin) and you can name who you prefer

In the mean time I'd suggest buying some T3 to keep you well

They reckon they have referred me to an endo but that letter says lipid clinc isn't that to do with cholesterol ?

Yes lipids are completely different and would just be looking to put you on statins 😳

Of course, I forget that you are in Cornwall which makes it so much harder as they really don't like T3 😕

Yes your right. Lipid no Thyroid.

Cornwall or not I’d throw at them all the ads they are running at the moment about patient choice - they can’t have it both ways!🤬

BEFORE booking any consultation you must get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing

Is your hypothyroidism autoimmune

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins

Testing options and includes money off codes for private testing
