Infusion Reaction Now What...?
Hi In January this year 2019 I had my 1st (and last!!) Infusion of Zoledronic Acid, I was told that I could have flu type symptoms for a week and my joints may ache more, (I have Hypomobility Ehlers Danlos Syndrome hEDS, & Gut Dismortility GD) but I wasn't prepared for the awful reaction that I had,

Hi ,about a month ago I had a dexa scan because I had a bad fall and broke both bones in my wrist .I was offered surgery which I rejected as I was off to Lapland the following Friday.Bit silly you might say but the guy who put my cast on reckoned that a lot of surgery is unnecessary.Well I went off in

Newly diagnosed with pmr and Gp has suggested alendronate to preserve bone density while taking prednisone. Would prefer diet & excercise.
Having read all I can on the topic it seems the research points to biphosphonates as being superior to diet (including extra calcium & vit D) & excercise for preventing bone loss in post menopausal women. Would love to know if anyone can show evidence this may not be true as would much prefer to try

Sleep Aid
One of the things I have found with RLS is that my head occasionally gets very hot and I end up turning my pillow over several times whilst trying to get to sleep. Recently I looked on the internet to see if there was an electrically cooled pillow, which there wasn't, but I found a Gel Pad that has

A frustrating case of parathyroidism
Has anyone been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism but nothing shows up on a scan? I feel pretty fatigued most of the time and would like to get rid of the tumour. I have also lost bone density because of the calcium being taken from them and have to take alendronic acid to stop any further deterioration

Severe Pelvis pain from 3 endometriosis cyst.
Just spent a week in hospital for severe pelvis pain which was affecting my ability to walk, open bowel or empty bladder. Discharged with mefenamic acid and cocodamol. Has anyone suffered pain from having 2 cyst in their ovaries And one stuck behind uterus. Annoying thing they can't do anything because

Pmr confirmed
Further to my first post last week, saw my gp today who confirmed pmr due to huge lowering in esr levels and crp levels since taking the prednisolone. He has reduced to prednisolone to 12.5 from 15 for one week and then to 10mg and then I need a further blood test and need to see him a week after. He

Ursodiol Dosage
I was recently diagnosed with PBC. The doctor said I was in the very early stages and prescribed Ursodiol. I take 500mg twice a day. Is that the typical dosage for this disease?

First time Rheumatologist, not happy
Hi everyone, had PMR for 5 and a half years, started on 15mg of pred and had got down to 3 mg, then had my first flare last November and had to go back to starting dose, this time it was in neck, shoulders and hips as usual, but also in my wrists, mentioned it to my GP and she said it might be RA and

Hi all, I currently take 300 mg capsules of ursodiol and I usually receive an all white capsule labeled "WATSON 3159" which I tolerate with no problems. I picked up my prescription today and got a new brand. It is a light pink and white capsule labeled "LANNETT 1326". Anyone taking this and what's your

Just a little info about ursodiol
I found this article to be interesting. https://www.gastrojournal.org/article/S0016-5085(04)02000-1/fulltext My niece gave me this link to read. It’s a little outdated so not sure how accurate it is.

Effects of ursodiol
I have a niece who is into natural remedies for anything medical that requires medication. She was researching ursodiol and found that it can cause cancer Asked if I would try something natural instead. Is this an issue? Can it in actual fact cause cancer ??

Osteoporosis medication and RA
Hi I've just been told my osteopenia has progressed to osteoporosis - despite taking lots of Vit D and a bone strengthening HRT for the past 9 years! 🙄 I'm due to start alendronic acid and a calcium supplement next week and just wondering if anyone has experience of taking these with MXT (15ml). I've

Making decisions and trying not be fearful
Last Saturday, I started Humira which for me personally makes me nervous. I have had two injections in my SI joint (left and right side) Over the last two weeks which I was hoping would be helpful. Have not notice any noticeable changes yet as it is still difficult to lay on either side while sleeping

Alendronic acid
Hi all, Is there anyone who has had good Dexa scan results when taking Alendronic acid. If so, how long did you take it for, and how long have you been off it.

Sorry to waffle again ladies / Medication
I’ve not been well for months but as us women do we keep going, however the last 4/5 wks I’ve been floored literally can’t do anything at speed all l want to do is just sleep. I think my GP is fed up with me but she is also pushing to get me seen by endometriosis specialist/gynaecologist. In between

What medicines to be cautious of....
I am seeing my rheumatologist in 5 days, for the first time since my diagnosis for PMR and possibly GCA. I know prednisone will most likely become a part of my life again, but I had terrible side effects 20 years ago. So, if the doctor were to try anything else like Alendronic Acid (scarey!), are there
