Ursodiol Dosage

I was recently diagnosed with PBC. The doctor said I was in the very early stages and prescribed Ursodiol. I take 500mg twice a day. Is that the typical dosage for this disease?

Regarding URSO, it is prescribed based on your weight. That s 13-15 mg URSO PER kg weight.

I take 300 twice a day and my liver is compensating like it should. Probably depends on how much you weigh what the does is?

I weigh 110 lbs or 50 kilograms. I also take 500 twice a day. The guidelines are by weight but the determining factor is by blood test. The most important thing with any medication is taking it exactly as directed. Which means twice a day is exactly 12 hours apart at the exact same time everyday. I had liver cirrhosis 8 years ago. Now my liver is completely normal and my life expectancy is the same as the general public. So follow your doctor's advice and you have a shot at controlling PBC
