How do you avoid your ectopic heartbeats?
Hello folks. I had catheter ablation for SVT last year (which so far has been a complete success!) but I am plagued with ectopic heartbeats. I have them all day everyday. My cardiologist says they're nothing to worry about and that suits me fine. I just liken them to feeling like internal hiccoughs and

Ablation
I am 19, a college student, and currently diagnosed with Atrial Tachycardia. It only affects 10% of people worldwide. I am having a cardiac ablation in November and was wonderi what i should expect before, during and after surgery?

Pacemaker with AV Node Ablation
My Cardiologist has suggested the next step would be a pace maker with
AV
Node
Ablation
this seems rather drastic. At a Beat it meeting recently the consultant suggest I had a second opinian from an Electrician his words.

Cardiologist ref av node ablation
Anyway looking at the notes with my gp and the initial ep referal made by cardiologist number 1 was for an
av
node
ablation
? Does this not sound like an over reaction since he firstly discharged me? Surely they would have considered other less dramatic ablation procedures?

No more AF
Hi I am now almost 4 months post my 5th catheter ablation in 9 months for Atrial Fib and Flutter. I have had no episodes of either since the 5th ablation. I am now off warfarin but still on metoprolol - 47.5 per day. My cardiologist says I should now be off Metoprolol because of its side effects. I have

Husband's adventures
Complaining of severe epigastric abdominal pain and looking really unwell, with vomiting the out of hours doctor referred him to A & E. Until now he has been a healthy 73 year old overweight and has lost four stone in 60 months, just re=educating his palate and being married to me. Still working.

Post Catheter Ablation issues
On June 12th of this year I had a catheter ablation for an arrhythmia that started after receiving another ablation on the nerves in my lower back, not sure if it's related. It's 2 months later and I notice that for the past few weeks I'll get a little light headed and my heart rate will go up to about

Sotalol side effects and an anticoagulation conundrum.
I'm a 61yr. old woman with PAF diagnosed 10 yrs ago. Episodes were becoming more frequent, and I was already up to 7.5mg Bisoprolol daily, not feeling good and neither was it controlling the AF. I started 120mg Sotalol, twice a day, 3 weeks ago, as a direct replacement for Bisoprolol. i've had 2 AF episodes

Positive Story :)
I just thought as I have found this site so very helpful over the past few months I would post my experience in the hope of giving others in my position some reassurance that there can be positive experiences. It's quite a long story so sorry about that! I have always suffered with heavy periods, from

Do I still need to take Rivaroxaban?
I have just had, 2nd April, an
AV
node
ablation
, so my Pacemaker keeps my heart in SNR. So do I need to still be on my anticoagulant? I had no instructions when leaving hospital as they were trying to get all the patients out the door on the evening before Good Friday!

Hybrid Ablation, 2nd procedure at last .
Having been amongst the first 20 or so in the south. West of England, to undergo this new procedure in December 2014, I am now to have the 2nd part next Wednesday 3rd June. Briefly because the diameter of my left Atrium is greater than 5mm, I was deemed unsuitable for normal Catheter Ablation but

Hi folks, wishing you all a calm day. Right, first of all I must tell you I have very bad osteoporosis. On the 27 February, my husband had a knee operation, on the 4th March I picked up my chip fryer and moved it to the other part of the kitchen, whoops, a wrenching feeling! On the 9th March I phoned
