AV (atrioventricular) node ablation

I am 81 and a year ago I had an AV node ablation. I realise this is probably a silly question but I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have been offered a AV node ablation, is it extremely painful, love to hear your experiences.

Hi All, Due to have a CRT-d implant quite soon and have been told that I won’t really feel much better than I do now (permanent AFib) Will I feel much better after the AV node ablation? Thanks everyone in advance.

Has anyone had an AV Node ablation where the AV node is ablated and the pacemaker is then incharge of keeping the heart pumping? Any pros and cons about this procedure?

Has anyone had a pacemaker and av node ablation in their 50/early 60’s? If so, has it been successful?

I had a similar problem with bisoprolil until was stopped after av node ablation Love to hear if anyone has suffered terrible side effects with these medications

Or is exercising to any great degree after AV Node ablation just not possible. Thanks to all in advance.

I just want to tell everyone on here how much i have appreciated there support ,encouragemwnt and ideas on my way to being and understanding normai again, of course with all that that means..On the 3rd of feb i go into hospital to have an AV node ablation.

I saw my cardiology consultant last week and he's put me on the wait list for an AV Node ablation and changed my meds to digoxen + 5mg bisolprolol twice daily.

I'm on a waiting list for pace and ablate, I've got the pacemaker just waiting for the AV node ablation.

EP says happy to do an RF line by line ablation to try and fix this or go straight to AV node ablation - has anyone else been faced with this choice ?

Hi Fellow members of this supportive forum, Monday, September 16, I’m getting a dual lead pacemaker and AV node ablation. I believe in the power of positivity and optimism. Could some of you who have had success with this procedure tell me about your good results?

I have had a pacemaker for 4 years and av node ablation 2 years ago. This week at my checkup they turned off the top lead as it hadn't been used for 2 years (since the ablation) & was just watching but using up battery.

I have total heart block due to AV node ablation, have a CRT pacemaker and had my first cardioversion 3 days ago.Getting a few flutters, bad heads and fatigued since the cardioversion but last night my heart was racing, beating hard and felt I had been hit by a bus.

So i hope i am making right choice to go ahead with the AV NODE ABLATION. IT IS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 4. jodie

I have had a pacemaker implant, recently and waiting for an AV Node Ablation, for which I am feeling extremely anxious about. Has anyone out there had this procedure? I would like to know their experiences- hope fully positive ones. Thank you

But to be quite honest, I still don't understand why CDreamer never got the AV node ablation. If AF was/is still there, how did the pacemaker override the chaotic signals coming through the AV node to the ventricles, without an AV node ablation?

I'm on the wait list for an AV node ablation so not having a pacemaker isn't an option. Is your pacemaker comfortable, anyone else get discomfort?

If so, does AV node ablation help to lose the extra weight? Jodie

HiOn 1.25mg bisoprolol for heart failure also have LVSD, AFib and had AV node ablation and pacemaker.
