Waiting list

Looking for views on AV node ablation and pacemaker which has been suggested as I have been on waiting list for an ordinary ablation for so long that they think it may not work.

Slight Irregular heartbeat

After av node ablation and pacemaker, I still have a slightly irregular heart beat at times. Does that mean my ventricles are still working a little on their own? It may be PVC's.

Quinine and Rivaroxaban

I am pacemaker dependant having had an av node ablation. Having given up all alcohol, which I used to really enjoy I have very infrequent episodes of AF. I have replaced my Gin and Tonic with a non alcoholic spirit and sugar free tonic.

Why do some people develop HF after av node ablation and pacemaker and some don't. They say about 40% do.

I had an av node ablation and pacemaker two months ago and feel really good. I was not informed of the possibility of developing AF at the time or about the biventricular pacemaker which I did not get. What determines why some people get it and some do not.

Pacemaker update

After several cardioversions 2 ablations and high doses of medication for rate control he has suggested 3 alternatives. 1) another ablation 2) a biventricular pacemaker with av node ablation. 3) a pacemaker with a cardioversion.

Covid, pacemaker and prosthetic mitral valve

I have a pacemaker with av node ablation, prosthetic mitral valve and continuing, although not felt, af. Medication is warfarin alone. Christmas has been spent in South Africa with my family, on Boxing Day, 5 of us, including myself tested positive for Covid.

AV node ablation

I’m looking at AVNode ablation option if cardioversion does not work which is scheduled for 2 weeks with loading on tykosyn in hospital. Could those of you who have had the node ablation or have information about it please share? I have been told I cannot continue being in tachycardia days after day

Pace and Ablate for Persistent A fib - Your Experiences?

He has put me on waiting list( 4 weeks wait) for a CRT device and then 4 weeks later a AV node ablation. Although I went through all the pros and cons for hours and agonised over the decision ( see previous posts) I felt at peace with this decision for pace/ablate over an ablation.

Thoughts on Ablate AV Node and Pace

Anyway, since then I've been taking the Digoxin which has slowed my heart rate and I have now received a letter from my long-standing EP suggesting the next likely course of treatment is that of AV Node Ablation and the upgrading of my Pacemaker to a CRT-P Device.

AV Node ablation & CRT Pacemaker

Hi I'm another newbie. I had a heart attack 20 years ago at the age of 55. It left me with atrial fibrillation and over the years I have been treated with medication, 2 pulmonary vein isolation ablations and 7 cardioversions. I don't seem to have many options left to me know and I have recently been
