Dabigatran (Pradaxa) & AFib
I have had my blood thinning medication changed to Dabigatran, and I am awaiting a catheter ablation. Has anyone suffered side effects and can I drink alcohol while taking it?

3 month review after Cox maze
in April I had a mini-maze procedure and LAA occlusion as part of a clinical trial. The second phase is to have a catheter ablation. This will involve mapping my heart and ensuring that the lesions made previously have not left any electrical pathways. If they have, they will be fixed there and then

What To Expect
I'm new here and Hello all. My AICD implant fired 3 times in 30 minutes. 2x in the car going to ER and 1x in ER. Was placed in ICU with amioderone plus propofenone drip. Upon release 4 days thereafter, am taking pill form now (225mg and 200mg) respectively for 30 days and was told the meds will be cut

Ablation and cardioversion in the same op
I have persistent AF. After three cardioversions in 18 months, I was recommended for a catheter ablation. The procedure took five hours and was only partially successful. I see from the notes the hospital gave me afterwards that NSR was only established after a DCCV cardioversion (hence the five hours

HR constantly above 120bpm
Hi, I am a 25 year old female who has SVT constantly at around 140 bpm. Since about 4 years old I have been passing out which the doctors can not explain why, they always put it down to getting up too quick. Last year I noticed myself getting out of breath very easily even when having a conversation

8 Weeks Post Ablation
Hi everyone 1st time posting here. I'm 35 and had a catheter ablation on 9th May. I was told by the surgeon that he thought he had ablated what was needed and was happy that all went well. They picked up eptopic beats overnight so I was put back on 2.5mg of bisoprolol. Was told after 4wks to stop this

Abdominal Pain after Cardiac Ablation
Hi, I had a cardiac ablation on 6/8/2017. I am happy at this point to report that other than some flutters and flops the first week that immediately converted to normal sinus rhythm, the a-fib seems to be under control. However, I have been having off and on abdominal pain since I woke up from the

Hello Lately it's been nothing but a struggle...I've had my "period" for 75+ days straight with awful cramp like pain in the pelvis. The pain is all over. I wore a heart monitor for 4 weeks and the Dr. Said that I have something called SVT and I need to have an catheter ablation done because my heart isn't beating correct. Has anyone ever had this?

I am new here - Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid and Mycophenelate
I was diagnosed with AF in 2000 and eventually had a successful cardiac ablation in 2011. At a similar time I was diagnosed with Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid (MMP) which is basically an incurable autoimmune blistering disease. I have just been put on Mycophenelate (I have been resisting this and/steroids

Persistent Atril Fibrillation. Left Ventricular Impairment with Decompensated Heart Failure. Hypertension
He explained my options & we agreed for me to have a biventricular pacemaker fitted & 4 weeks later to have an

ablation
. I would then be pacer dependent. He & my GP agreed I could go on the EP'S NHS waiting list for the procedures which I am told should be done in 3 to 4 months.

Two months post ablation
I had the first part of a hybrid ablation procedure in April. As this was the Maze procedure by endoscope and a excision of the LAA, I was left feeling a bit drained for a couple of weeks. Since then, I have slowly fought my way back to fitness; no AF episodes or other arrhythmia in May or June, but
