Has anyone had ACDF/Discectomy & Spinal Fusion surgery?
Has anyone had this surgery? I’m a potential candidate for this is have large herniated discs in C5-6 & C7-8. My Neurosurgeon said that first option would be a nerve block of pain wasn’t improving (it isn’t) but I feel this would only help pain and wouldn’t sort out the problem itself. I’m a 30 year

i'm very lightheaded most of the time. Could it be apixaban? Or is it normal for Parkinsons? my GP says try Dabigatran.
ive been on Apixaban (5 mg x 2 daily) since 2016 for Afb after my stroke and subsequent major heart surgery - fine, my bloods are very healthy. I'm fighting PD with exercise, food and meditation etc. I have good days, bad days but the light headedness is around most of the time. I am 78 and weigh 50kilos

Pacemaker
Just had a pacemaker done today . Due to bradacardia. There were issues with getting it done due to finding vain at collar bone .and then lead would not go by the valve. Used 3 diferent ones. Eventually it worked. Also very painful due to getting pacemaker inserted into position. Took 1 & half hours

Covid, pacemaker and prosthetic mitral valve
I hope this will help to reassure many. I have a pacemaker with av node ablation, prosthetic mitral valve and continuing, although not felt, af. Medication is warfarin alone. Christmas has been spent in South Africa with my family, on Boxing Day, 5 of us, including myself tested positive for Covid

He's getting better but I'm a nervous wreck all of the time. I've just got over 6 years of mam having heart attacks and

Take meds on an empty stomach, or take with food, or ?
I've spoken with many pharmacists and my electrophysiologist as well, and I'm puzzled because they say the same or different things! If anyone can ring in on what *might* work best, I'd appreciate it. I take the metoprolol extended release once a day in the morning. I take the flecainide twice a day

Pain in stomach after running
I could google it but I’d probably read that I’d need a triple heart bypass or something... the last two times I’ve been running, after an hour or two, I seem to get a pain in my stomach on the left hand side, which lasts into the night. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced similar or if anyone

I’m 70 and I had open heart surgery to remove a Myxoma in my left atrium at the beginning of October 2020. (I have put details earlier of the experience) I have monitored my blood pressure and heart rate since leaving hospital 3 months ago and both have gradually increased from about 120/75 to 140/90

Confused again, nervous & scared
My heart tripped out tonight (Nov 8) at 9 o'clock while I was relaxing watching the TV. It's still tripping. My Kardia reading says it's steady but fast at 125 bpm, & has been that for the past 3 1/2 hours. My evening meds (Flecainide 150 mg which I take twice a day -- & I take Pradaxa too) did nothing

Extreme fatigue
Hi all :) Oh it's so lovely and comforting to hear words of positivity from.people in the same boat ♥️ My dad had very unexpected quadruple heart bypass surgery on 22nd. He's now home and staying with my sister. He's usually a very active 62 year old and is very very down in the dumps and extremely fatigued

Severe anxiety always thinking I’m having a heart attack
Hi, I have been having chest pains for about a week now. I’m constantly thinking that I’m having a heart attack. My anxiety is the worst it has been in years. Is it possible to have a heart attack for a week straight? I’m always thinking if the worst, however I do have some acid reflux and heartburn

New to this board - I have AF with Bradycardia and would like to know if bradycardia can be resolved if AF is stopped
I had an AF episode on October 31 and did not know what it was. I felt horrible. November 2 my heart dropped to 32 bpm. My wife took me to the ER immediately. 3 hours later I had a pace maker. I kept having episodes of AF and went back in for another heart cath. My cardiologist decided to set me up with

Happy New Year 🥳 back from hospital!
Happy New Year to all here! I’ve been back in hospital. Ever since my Ablation in October I’ve had this odd thing: A sudden, sharp stabbing/ burning pain in my heart area, goes as quick as it comes. Then it happens practically every few minutes or so. It had been lasting a day or so. This time on 30th

Why I need to have a heart attack !!!
What a terrible thing to have to write but sadly it is true. Please let me explain. On 4th December I was scheduled to have triple heart bypass surgery but the procedure was postponed just before I was due to be taken into theatre. I would add that the operation was due to be undertaken at a private
