does anyone else have to sleep on their back and other questions
I find there are times when I can't sleep on my right side (I never sleep on my left) without my heart playing up. I have trained myself to sleep on my back but I've never heard anyone else suffering this. Also, when I'm reading in bed, I have to hold the book off my chest, or this also causes missed

Heart rate :(
My heart rate while resting is about 44 and I’m so scared I’m only 22, don’t really exercise I’d say I walk everyday but I wouldn’t count that as athletic, struggled with diziness and breathless, I applied for a cardiologist appointment but it can take 3 months to come back, it does fluctuate so it can

Onset of Afib
I need some advice. I had a cryoabalation in July 2018. I have been in sinus rhythm since. I went to bed last night and 2 hours later woke up with a heart rate in the 180s. Spent 5 ours in the ER. Came home and 12 hours later back in sinus rhythm. Is this normal? The only thing I changed was to a Claritin

Hi just found this link and joined. Very recently discovered I have left bundle branch block. I have a slow pulse - anywhere between 40 and 60. I have an erratic blood pressure which is very difficult to take, and has to be done manually. My GP is not concerned but I read somewhere I should get an echocardiogram

I went to the cardio because I would have short episodes where my heart would be fast. After a negative stress, monitor and ekg he determined I had afib that wasn't bad. I didn't have high bp basically nothing medically wrong. He put me on 25 mg of metropol 2xs a day and I started having more episodes

APIXABAN - Is it making me feel so wierd
Iam an 87 year old male and have always been relatively fit and healthy. Although I had no symptoms of Atrial Fibrillation, I was diagnosed with A F last Summer and was prescribed Apixaban 2.5mg twice a day. Since then I have felt generally light headed with the feeling of being on the cusp of fainting

Preserved LV Systolic function
Does anyone know what this is? This was on a letter as diagnosis from cardiologist to my GP in addition to paroxysmal atrial fibrillation but was never mentioned to me.

Is there no pattern to this AFIB stuff?
My episodes have increased to almost once a month which is very disappointing because they used to be almost a year apart. I go to emergency & get chemically converted. PIPs have not worked. Last year, an IV of metoprolol (beta blocker) got me back into normal sinus rhythm, but the last couple of times

Hi, I have PAF and went 10 months without an episode which is normal for me, it lasted 6 hours and I self converted , my GP has never suggested PIP , just told me to double up on Bisoprolol which does nothing to shorten episodes , I take 1.25 Bisoprolol daily. I have read a lot of posts about

Unexpected Fast AF
I posted earlier about some AF which started this morning at 0130. I took various Kardia readings and discovered that the heart was beating at about 75-85 bpm for several hours. When I got up at about 0900, however, the reading shot up to 146 bpm, then, very surprisingly, 10 minutes later after taking

Afib or PACS
My afib/flutter has been well controlled in recent months with Tikosyn and propranolol and my year old pacemaker but the past few evenings following dinner I have had episodes of very brief tachycardia. I wear an apple watch so have quickly checked and can see jump to 120 and last night 150. They are

I have ectopic beats all day, everyday.... does anybody else?
Hello. I wondered if anyone could help me. I have had palpitations on and off for 10 years.. but the last 6 months I've had them continually. I wake up and they are there til bed time. I've had an ecg and they have told me I have ectopic beats. They have also put me on medication for tachycardia. I

Heart rate of 52-54 bpm on. Bisoprolol 2.5mg and flecainide 100mg. Is this ok?
Happy New Year everyone. I’m rather concerned that since I added flecainide to my daily medications my heart rate has dropped from the low 60s to the low 50s. Even with hard exercise now I can’t get my bpm above 75bpm. I do feel ok generally and do an hours hard aerobic exercise a day. I am suffering

Not Sure What to do Next
In March I saw my EP who put me on the waiting list for an ablation for SVT. This will be my second, the first was in 2014 for Afib. I have been reasonably well throughout the summer with a heart rate in the mid 90s until the end of September when my heart rate suddenly shot up to 150 and stayed there

Question about Metoprolol
Hi all - just curious, I’m taking 25 mg metoprolol twice a day and I should have stopped it by now but worried my ectopics will increase if I do. Does metoprolol affect heart rhythm or just heart rate?
