Rescue remedy interactions
Can anyone tell me if Rescue Remedy interacts with Atenolol? I am becoming very anxious /panicky whilst awaiting my neurologist appointment next month. I just think I am doing ok and having good days but then my legs (and sometimes arms) will feel all weak and spongy again and am knocked back to square

Trials and tribulations of beta blockers
Hi everyone. Looking for experiences again. I requested to switch from bisoprolol and was put on 25 mg atenolol, but 4 months on and the side effects are the same if not worse. Debilitating fatigue, short of breath on the slightest exertion, wobbly legs wading through treacle. Cold feet etc. But worse

New here, but not new to AF and ectopic beats.
Hi folks, I’m new here, but am not new to AF. My AF began, I believe, when I was diagnosed with Graves’ Disease (hyperthyroidism) in 2004 treated with Atenolol (to bring the associated tachycardia under control) until the Carbimozole brought my thyroxine levels down. The Carbimozole dose was gradually

I am struggling with secondary Reynaud's (undifferentiated connective tissue disease) and my fingers/hands are swelling so badly during flares and are causing me terrible pain. It does not seem to be related to cold weather conditions as I get it during warmer weather too. I am on Hydroxychloroquine

Ramipril
Hi everyone. I'm looking for people's experiences with Ramipril, positive or negative. I have been taking 2.5mg ramipril for over six years now. I'm fortunate to have been in NSR for 10 months, but symptoms that are possibly medication related are really debilitating. I requested a swap from bisoprolol

Virtual bioequivalence for achlorhydric subjects: The use of PBPK modelling to assess the formulation-dependent effect of achlorhydria
For so many years, patients have been insisting that levothyroxine tablets from different manufacturers, even different dosages from one manufacturer, have different effects on them. Now a paper which pretty clearly shows that stomach acidity is probably a significant factor. Albeit a "virtual" paper

Trial of Nifedipine for Raynaud's
Results: 1. Bright red face and shins 2. Tendancy to topple over 3. Cold hands and feet ( but red nose) Thoughts: not worth it just for a warm nose. Winter is coming.

Ectopic beats
Hi, I had Cryo abalation for AF march this year which wasn't successful. Repeat scheduled for 20 Sep. In the meantime I was admitted to hospital for a few days for atrial flutter. They stopped the flecainide I had been on for years and put me on 100mg Atenolol. This slowed by hear rate to about 50

Sorry, new to site, headache still ongoing, any advice please
Hi I'm still new here as only diagnosed with underactive thyroid last Friday. Started 50mcg Levothyroxine at 7.30am on Saturday morning. By 11am I was starting a headache and although it's not currently as bad as it got to by Saturday evening I do still have a headache. I'm also taking Nifedipine 10mg

Calcium channel blockers?
I'm off to see my GP on Wednesday about my mild hypertension. I suspect he will want me to take some sort of drug. I was hoping I'd be given something that might help my mild Raynaud. Has anybody tried nifedipine or similar drugs for Raynauds, or can recommend something else.

Bisoprolol j mannion
I was on Bisoprolol after Ablation for six months and never felt right. So my Gp agreed to me changing to Atenolol as I do not get bad side effects as I did with Bisoprolol. So think trying Atenolol would be worth a try.

Results of caterer ablation
I had Ablation done at UHNM in Stoke in December last year. The Ablation has bought my heart rate down from a high of 170bpm to 60-70 most of the time. It did start to rise again at times to around 90 Bpm so had word with my GP and he agreed to let me try small dose of Atenolol 25mg once per day

Rheumy Today
Well, shock and gasp, I actually got an appointment when I should have! A delightful junior doc who said halfway through "I don't need to tell you much at length because you seem clued up". That was after I showed him my legs and asked if those blotches were livedo reticularis. Thank you forum! It's

Sleep
Does anyone else have problems sleeping? Getting a good nights sleep when I was on Bisoprolol was not good despite having persistent waves of fatigue during the day. When I changed to Atenolol I seemed to be ok for a while (ie no waves of fatigue and slept well maybe 4 out of 5) but now I seem to be

Heaviness in chest
Hi, I'm new to this site, having just been diagnosed with Afib a few days ago. I've been experiencing a heaviness in my chest when walking only a short distance...also difficulty breathing while moving. I assuming this is typical with Afib, and hope it will subside over time. I'm being treated with Atenolol
