Swelling and cold to the touch
I found out today that the doctor I saw wrote in the record of attendance that I have an

in my foot and that I need to see a vascular surgeon urgently. I was not told about any of this and I have had no follow up appointment just to go back to my GP.

Septic Shock, 2.5 months in ICU...update
Hello everyone. I posted a few months ago about my father who went into septic shock in November. He was on a vent for several weeks before having a trach placed. For a while, he was having a hard time weaning off the vent/trach and the hospital staff started preparing me for the possibility of my dad

Diet and Afib
I’m reading a lot about the benefits of a plant based, low sugar diet on Afib. I’m not overweight but I’ll admit my 5 a day has only been a pipe dream most days. Since I was diagnosed a fortnight ago, I’ve cut out all sugar, all caffeine and any artificial sweeteners. Anything with an E number has gone

Doctor checkup yesterday
After being forgotten in the exam room ...1 hour later nurse had to locate the doctor, who wasn't even in the building...... anyway, found that my echo and blood work to be very good. I was told...and I kind of thought this as well, that what I was feeling in my chest were pvcs...not Afib. Not concerned

Confused- ablate or not
Well, after a 3rd visit to a cardiologist (always a different one) since being diagnosed with lone afib a few years ago, I’m confused! My episodes are now more frequent and last longer. My cardiologist recommended I don’t go down the ablate route but instead keep trying meds to control it. My heart

Hello, My mom, 68 years old, at 3 hours after the first moderna jab, her heart started to beat very fast (150 bpm) and she felt strange palpitations. Lasted 5 minutes. She went to see her physician who insisted it was just from anxiety and that she must do the second jab. 20 days later, she did the

So who is looking after me…….
I was under the care of a locus cardiologist as well as the EP. The EP diagnosed atrial tachycardia rather than atrial fibrillation along with multifocal ventricular ectopics. Further echocardiogram, lung function and another 24 hour tape were requested to be done here by my local cardiologist. However

TV Advert for Kardia
Slowly flicking through channels on the TV but not paying much attention to channel numbers an advert being shown on one channel stopped me, (for a few seconds only, didn’t want to see or hear) from moving further up the channel list. It was an advert for Kardia and splashed across the screen were words

Hi, I was diagnosed with paroxysmal afib at 43 in 2017 and had catheter ablation in March this year. Afib returned for a couple of hours twice but was in the 3 month blanking period so was ok. Stopped the flecainide and verapamil 2 months after procedure as advised by surgeon and need to say it feels

Scientists Discover a Surprising New Way that Tuberculosis Suppresses Immunity
When Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb), the bacterium that causes tuberculosis, infects a person, the body’s immune response is critical to how the disease will progress—either helping the body fight the bacterium or exacerbating the infection. AV block and Supraventricular tachycardia runs...
Hi everyone, Am fairly new here (diagnosis mid April) and my first post ... but have been reading you all lots and it has really helped me understand things and be less anxious, and you all sound so nice :). I have a question I would be so grateful if any of you could shed some light on what it means

Recent ‘Pace & Ablate’
Had the two procedures done a month apart. AV node ablation done on August 4th. Super good and fast recovery. Wonderful to have normal heart rhythm after a year of constant Afib, tiredness and shortness of breath. So thankful to the Afib Clinic staff of St. Paul’s Hospital.

Soft tissue massage and relief, relief, relief!!!
I noticed yesterday afternoon my left Tubi-grip on my leg was wet. My leg was leaking a clear liquid...no open sore, just coming through the tissue. In the morning my sheets were wet and I could see drops on my lower leg in a few places...even with my eyes. I called my primary care and his nurse wrote

Lightheaded
Hi Been a long time since I wrote anything on here. I’m feeling fed up today. Diagnosed anxiety disorder 2007. Just finished 4th round of CBT. I’ve been feeling lightheaded(not dizzy) everyday for over three years now. Some days it’s minimal, some days it’s all consuming and I can barely function and
