First off, I would like to thank all of you for the good wishes that you sent, along with Healthunlock.com for providing a forum for people with AFIB.
I can honestly say, I'm crediting this site and the great people that post on here for saving my life. If it wasn't for all of you and Healthunlock.com, I would have never made the appointment for my Catheter Ablation.
When they took me back to do the Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) they found a blood clot in my left atrium. At that time my EP said she was not comfortable doing the ablation with having the blood clot. She prescribed pacerone for the afib along with warfarin for the blood clot.
She will be rescheduling my ablation for late September or mid-October, if the blood clot cooperates.
Thank you all once again!

I didn’t see your original post CalJailer but this one just shows how important it is to have a TOE (the term used in the UK). It’s interesting that they are treating the clot with warfarin rather than a DOAC however, I know medication costs in the USA are colossal so I guess that’s why! Here in the UK, at your tender age, the chances are that you would already have been offered an anticoagulant but fortunately your EP has done the right thing. Hope that everything goes according to plan an that you recover well for Christmas!
Yes strange that a) you were not apparently anticoagulated for at least a month (I was for three) before the procedure and that b) they are not offering clot busting drugs. The only difference in TEE and TOE is that here in UK we spell Oesphagus with an O .
