What alternative therapies have folk found helpful & effective in managing their Lupus symptoms & flares?
I also find
aromatherapy
& reflexology helpful. I would love to be able to manage my symptoms totally without conventional medical intervention. Has anyone been able to do this?

I used crystal healing, massage, reflexology, acupuncture and
aromatherapy
. Now with limited funds I want to return to
aromatherapy
but could any of you delightful people out there let me know what essential oils do you use to help alleviate the symptoms of RA.

During all this time I have sourced Homeopathy,
Aromatherapy
and Healing and looking at a Raw Food diet... Incidentally I have been on the raw food diet and ended up 3 days admitted to hospital with a severe allergic reaction to either nuts or seeds I used! bit of a nightmare.

Day 2 Cold Turkey from steroid creams
I have a cupboard full of
aromatherapy
oils etc and may have a go at putting something together. I also have a cupboard full of emollients, E45, Oilatum, Cetraben - you name it I have it! I've found that if I don't TOUCH, I don't itch and consequently don't scratch.

Consider jasmine
aromatherapy
(fragrance-free). You can buy pure jasmine spritzers at herb shops and spas. HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS Melatonin is good; with 3 to 5 mg working for many people, but Dr. Altshuler prescribes his patients 20 mg.

A Sweet Smell
Some of you may be fans of
aromatherapy
, and I certainly find that lavender, rose and sandalwood are very refreshing and soothing. I also like my home to smell lovely, and as I don't like chemical sprays, I tend to use
aromatherapy
candles, or an oil burner. What are your favourite smells?

Just a few ideas that have helped me.
Aromatology: This is NOT
aromatherapy
. I became a case study to someone, who is now a really good friend, as part of her training. At this time my ulcers were so bad that my knuckle bones were visible. The medical professionals wanted to lop them off!

It’s all gone Pete Tong.
I gave it my best shot and to help me along it was suggested I try a course of
aromatherapy
massages. This was a welcome treat and reliefs as some of my tics were causing me physical pain.

aromatherapy
massage has helped mw manage my TS, I could do with a nice massage now but that isn’t going to happen.

Things Tried
I was told yesterday that "maybe my body doesn't need that much sleep and I should listen to my body. The legs are signaling me to get up and do something." The same person told me "Drink a 5 hr. energy shot a half hour before I have to get up so when my second alarm goes off, I will have a surge of

the perils of depression
I go out more, have regular little treats eg outings with friends & family, m&s "dine in for £10" to save cooking, or an
aromatherapy
massage, reflexology etc. Just an hour in a nice bubble bath with scented candles, a glass of wine and a good book is great therapy for me.

Anyone able to advise on medical testing for fibromyalga ..?
My therapist was a trained nurse but working in the complimentery health and
aromatherapy
and sport massage physiotherapy. I received a letter/report on her findings and asked my GP for his thoughts and opinion.

Emotional stages of RA with a nod of respect to Tilda
Imagine - massage,
aromatherapy
, Tai Chi, group meetings, food allowances, the list could be endless but very, very effective. An allowance for emotional nurturing on the DLA would do it but sadly, the likelihood of this happening is slight unless it becomes a valued form of intervention!
