I’m over the moon and I feel the need to share as it’s you lovely people that have encouraged me not to give up and to fight for my health. I went to see a gastroenterologist for the first time today (private). I was ready for an argument because every doctor or consultant I’ve ever seen seemed to

Advice from the experts please?
I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia 5 years ago, bad story, long recovery and now watching for signs in my kids. My youngest (23 year old boy, history of Graves Disease) has consistently had B12 levels around 200. These are his most current test results and his doctor is not concerned and just suggests

Folate deficiency with normal labs
Hello everyone! I need your precious feedback on a case that has risen up on me lately: Is it possible to have a folate deficiency with normal lab values? I had a blood test which came up with normal folate values ( 7.2 ng/ml with a normal value of >5.4). The labs also resulted to a higher than normal

Low ferritin question
Hi. Would be grateful for advice. My (adult) daughter had always suffered from anaemia to some extent. Last year her B12 came back at 119 and she had a course of injections. Recently she had been feeling weak, tired and with palpitations and tachycardia, so had blood tests. B12 was 300 and ferritin

HB levels in blood
Dear community I understand pernicious anaemia causes low haemoglobin level in blood. Not sure low. Can haemoglobin carry on reducing 2 months following b12 injection loading ? Should hb levels increase after loading or does it take a long time? What has been your experiences of HB levels

Parietal Cell Antibody test refused by GP
I posted a few weeks back about my Dad who I suspect has b12 absorption problems either as a result of low stomach acid or PA. He tested negative for IF antibodies so zi asked a GP at his surgery if they would test for Parietal Cell antibodies. She didn't seem to know what I was talking about?! Said

Iron levels
I was reading one of radd's posts explaining the relationship between iron deficiency and palpitations and decided to look at my recent results. I was diagnosed and started Levo on 19th March. Between 18 March and 30 June my serum iron has dropped from 25.9 to 11.5. The Serum TIBC has dropped
