False reading?
Hi my daughters B12 was 143 & she was given prescribed B12 50mg x2 daily. She’s had a recent blood test & her levels are 479 n/g. Her consultant wants her to come off the tablets & take a multivitamin. I’m a bit concerned it could be a false reading because she’s taking B12. It’s the second time she

Gastritis improvement with injections
I am curious if those with gastritis have found it improved after injections. I had an endoscopy last year, after monthly injections were started, which showed moderate gastritis. This year, the endoscopy showed marked improvement, along with better bowel movements and less intestinal cramping. The

Positive intrinsic factor tests
Hi there, I have had 2 positive intrinsic factor antibody tests. I also have all of the symptoms of PA. Fatigue, nausea, pins and needles in feet, loose stools, acid reflux and difficulty concentrating. My blood serum B12 levels however seem within the normal range. What do you guys think this means

Lymphoma Questions
Hi All, Sorry to post on such a crappy topic. So this study came out and it kind of scared me a bit as I have a focus score of 8 from my biopsy at diagnosis which is quite high. The study is here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0896841121000561 It seems to suggest that the higher

I said that I would report back after another catheterization. I just inserted a catheter and it went in as if there were virtually no obstruction. Unless it is just expectation and that I can some how control my sphincter which I haven't been able to in over a year, probably two. Getting ready for

No one will believe this
I have had difficult urinating for years. I have posted about catheter horrors and about finally finding one that works, sort of. I believe I have scar tissue at my bladder neck because that is where the cath encounters difficult in insertion. My urologist wanted to do another TURP, no way, it took

B12 levels and symptoms
I am wondering if anyone can help or advise me on levels and symptoms. My B12 was 183 last August and then 247 in May as I supplemented for a while, but I was admitted to hospital with a racing heart beat of 123. I have regular disabling palpitations, fatigue, crumbling nails, blurred vision, balance

Cause of b12 deficiency? Should I get private bloods?
Looking for advice. Been having b12 symptoms on and off for awhile: nausea, tingling in body burning on hand, tiredness, brain fog. 10 months ago I was told I was slightly deficient and to supplement, repeat bloods in 3 months. Told they came back fine (I have never had the values for any of my tests

B12 results help please
I have received my results which I had tested privately. Does this mean that I do not have PA? B12 -139 pmol/L (25.1. -165 pmol/L) Intrinsic factor - negative I have been suffering with many symptoms but these maybe attributed to hypothyroidism or another endocrine disease so I am trying to exclude

Lower Right Quadrant Pain
Hi, I have IBS and about a week ago started up with stabbing/twisting pains in my LRQ after mistakenly eating udon (didn't know it was wheat). I get pain around the belly button, right side and then down into the ileocecal area. Nothing helps. Not Tylenol or castor oil packs. It has waxed and waned for

Antibody negative PA
Hi. I read the above referred to by an administrator on a previous post and just asking for further info please (post comments were turned off). I've had a test for intrinsic factor that came back negative (yet was told in 2006 that I'd be on injections for life as I can't absorb tablets). Is this the

Intrinsic factor and GPC antibodies
I have a question about my test results, I was hoping someone here could help explain to me what it might mean because I’m not confident the doctors I’m seeing know anything about this stuff. I had a low b12 level (175), along with high homocysteine and high methylmalonic acid. I was then tested for

Can anyone explain?
Intrinsic factor antibody 1.01 u/mL 0 - 1.19 Normal I thought it would say negative or positive, so I’m confused. Thanks

I live in Perth western Australia, and although we had an initial co vid outbreak like most countries our state got on top of it very quickly and we have no cases of covid. Apart from a couple of scares when we went into lockdown for a week when a case escaped quarantine we live life like before this

Hi, is it possible to still have PA even though my parietal cell and intrinsic factor antibody are negative and my b12 is low?
Low b12 and negative parietal cell antibody and intrinsic factor. Can it still be pernicious anaemia

Giving up hope
Morning everyone. This site is like a breath of fresh air. I had a big stomach operation when I was 28. I was told I would have pernicious anaemia because of my intrinsic factor. I had B12 every month and felt fine. About 4 years ago a young doctor told me after my routine annual blood test I didn’t

Is it normal to feel super tired after injection?
Hi guys, I was recently diagnosed with PA following 2 positive intrinsic factor antibody tests. I had my first injection of B12 a couple of days ago and have felt super tired and a bit nauseous since. Now I feel tired anyway most of the time, but its been worse this last couple of days. Is this normal
