Castor Oil

I said that I would report back after another catheterization. I just inserted a catheter and it went in as if there were virtually no obstruction. Unless it is just expectation and that I can some how control my sphincter which I haven't been able to in over a year, probably two. Getting ready for another hot pack. It makes little sense that something applied to you skin can go right to an organ as if it had a mind but it seems that it does.

Sometimes it’s best to just enjoy our victories and not over analyze them. Congratulations !!

I have mixed feelings about homeopathy. It makes no sense from a current "scientific" perspective. But the scientific perspective changes all the time as we learn more. 200 years ago (not sure of the time frame) we knew nothing about atoms and if someone suggest such a thing they would be called a quack. 50 years ago we knew of only a small subset of sub atomic particles. Maybe there is truth to homeopathy that we will only understand when we have the tools to look at more subtle properties of atoms. When you consider bizarre things that physics tells us like particle entanglement, anything is possible. Scientists work within what is observable with current tools. When the tools change the theories do too.

I will not deny anything that I do not understand. Nor will I follow advise that sounds too wacky and with no supporting evidence of efficacy. I attempt to weight the benefits vs risks. For me the change of improving my peeing was enough motivation and the risks were about 0.

I have read a bit on castor oil. It was recommended twice for my bladder problem but the first time I tried it by injecting through a catheter. Did nothing so I thought castor oil had no magic for me. Castor oil has been used for thousands of years and the anecdotal evidence is huge. Caster oil had been analyzed for its ingredients and several have known effectiveness as anti microbal and anti inflammatory. There will never be a funded controlled study since there is little profit from selling it. How is gets through 2 inches of fat and goes to where it is needed is a mystery but as another poster said, don't over think it. Now I just need to get the UTIs under control and I will be a happy camper. Good thing, we are going camping next week, and fishing too. I love fish but never had the patience to sit around for hours and so almost nothing. Lexipro has changed that :)

We really need to change the approval system so that other than extremely well funded studies by big pharma can be considered. Maybe an agency that subsidizes these studies. You know that big pharma looks at every chemical found in every plant animal or rock it can get its hands on in the hopes of finding something to patent.

I have not had major urinary issues in quite a long time so I have not repeated the castor oil treatment. In fact I feel almost normal in that respect. Only issue is urgency at times. I just really have to pee suddenly. Frequency is almost normal, just get up three times a night at most. No shedding of tissue or blood. I only did the castor oil thing twice. Some will say that it was just a matter of time and that healing would have been the same without the castor oil. But the effect was so immediate that I am convinced the oil did something significant. Still was shedding tissue and blood for quite a while after castor oil treatment. It might have accelerated healing but I think the main effect was breaking down scar tissue. Before the treatment I was having great difficulty urinating a lot of the time and great difficulty inserting catheters. The improvement was so fast after just two one week series of castor oil that I find it difficult to believe that the oil was not responsible.
