For life ?
Fab news for them of course BUT I was told that being a woman of 65, even with only one recorded episode of AF (PAF I assume) that I would be on
anticoagulants
for life. I have accepted this and so far am perfectly settled on Apixaban. But is this correct?

I've been on Metoprolol for about three years now (low dose, half a pill morning and night). Can I wean off of it? If so, how?
I have had Afib, once recently that I was able to reset holding my breath. I'm not on a blood thinner. I'd like to see if it can be managed without the meds. I'm 66 and otherwise healthy. I had a some high blood pressure but cut almost all salt out and got that under control. I'd like to use supplements

COVID-19 Vaccine
Hi, I watched the Head of the MHRA for medicines on TV this morning say that people on blood thinners will need to weigh up the pros and cons before deciding to have the COVID-19 vaccine. Did anyone else see this and what was your reaction?

I heard on on Andrew Marr this morning the CEO of MHRA that having the Covid 19 vaccine whilst taking Blood thinners is a risk but the risks should be weighed up before having it I am very concerned about this as I have permanent AF and have to take Warfarin I also have heart failure and valve problems

AF and bad kidneys - a toxic combo!
Sanjay Gupta has recorded this video today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3ILy4lSCbU I found a few things relevant to stuff we have been discussing. Noticed he used the phrase 'thins the blood'. He talked about the risks of bleeding and the anticoagulant making it worse. "Anticoagulation isn't

Should I stop taking Apixaban?
I'm being a right ditherer today, in fact I have been all week. Now that I no longer have atrial fibrillation, should I give up on the anticoagulant? I was continuing with it because it had kept my migraine at bay for two years now. (That's apart form a period after my ablation). However, I knew that

Very informative discussion with cardiologist
I had a phone consultation with a cardiologist (hope I get to keep this one) who treated me like an intelligent person and answered lots of questions, including ones I hadn’t asked. I hope this post may be helpful to others. The information that came out of this was as follows: I can’t take a higher

Stomach ulcer?
Has anyone else here developed a stomach ulcer after taking warfarin or any other anticoagulant long term? I have a suspected ulcer, and I'm wondering how it can heal while still taking warfarin, which it seems can be a cause of ulcers.

Stopping taking aspirin prior to elective c section at 36/37 weeks
So yesterday I saw my consultant and we discussed my birth plan. I wished to have natural birth until my due date, and have elective CS if haven’t started labour by my due date. So a date has already been booked for this. Am having CS because of a previous one I had with my daughter. About a month ago

I am pacemaker dependant having had an av node ablation. Having given up all alcohol, which I used to really enjoy I have very infrequent episodes of AF. I have replaced my Gin and Tonic with a non alcoholic spirit and sugar free tonic. However, I have just heard that I should not be having tonic

I have A F also relax.
I found out that I have AT in Jan. 2020. I have times a few times a week that I am in AF. I bought a machine to take my NO and it tells me if I am in AT at that time. Watch my caffeine, don't drink alcohol not my thing. But you just love with it. I go on everyday do not worry or stress about it. I know

Agoraphobia coming back
Can't catch a break, well I can't fully say that, I had a ok year last year, but prior to that I was having SVT (supra ventricular tachycardia) that kept being misdiagnosed as panic attacks until I got a heart monitor. It was causing my anxiety. Then December 2018, I had a small clot lodge in my right

Join pain is it heart related
Hello. I was having left hand & left side face numbness two years prior to my heart attack (Dec 2019), but was told it’s some elbow nerve damage by a neurologist. Then it went away after a stent to LDA. Now almost a year later I’m having pain in left shoulder feeling heat on my left thumb , while cold
