Just diagnosed with Osteoporosis, rock and a hard place...
Do any of you have multiple conditions that make it difficult to treat OP? I have stage 3b chronic kidney disease, which means I have to limit my calcium and my protein. I also have chronic deep vein thrombosis for which I am on lifetime blood thinners. That means no food high in vitamin K. I'm also

Increased gluten sensitivity - Is this age or anticoagulants?
Hi - I am 48 and in good health. I have been on Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) for about 6 years. I have been in persistent A-fib since November 2021. Since 2016 have had 5 cardioversions and 2 ablations - my afib is most likely caused by stenosis of my aorta and mitral valves (just stressing the point that my

Hi, I started with PAF back in 2014, started out on Warfarin but as a veggie wanted to be able to eat lots of green stuff so was moved to Apixaban. Then after seeing a private Cardiologist (who did more cardiac tests than any other Doc I've seen before!) he moved me to Edoxaban and within days it

Curcumin
Hello, I have read on this forum that taking curcumin is excellent for inflammation. Does anyone know if taking curcumin thins the blood or increased your risk of a bleed? I am on warfarin and monitor my blood and dosage weekly. I looked up contra indications to curcumin, which did say taking warfarin

Interatrial Septal Aneurysm (ASA) - anyone with knowledge or experience of this condition or relevant recent research?
I am 75, with 2 years of paroxysmal AF, and looking again at my first Echocardiogram I had in May 2022, I notice there was a finding of an "interatrial septal aneurysm". This finding was mentioned almost in passing, without further emphasis or mention in the Report's Conclusions. However, while such

AF & Low Blood Platelets
Since starting treatment for AF last year on beta blockers & blood thinners that made it worse than it was & became a problem my blood plates have declined from normal 150 to 20-30 range in 6 months. Having stopped all medication there has been no change in 6 months on NO medication. It is well documented

Increased Analegride Dose - Heart Related Side Affects
Diagnosed in April with ET-Jak2. Slow slow taper after appointment with rheumatologist
Appointment with my Rheumatologist tonight has totally disappointed me! I came out wondering whether to get another opinion but that's probably because I didn't want to hear what he was saying to me! Having got down to 1mg (and in self denial that the pain was coming back) I reluctantly had repeat bloods

Still only 1 and 1 only AFIB reading since Oct, 2020
Only one finding of afib since October 2020. I bought a Kardia immediately after and check myself about 25 times a week. 73 years old and all is good. Moving forward to November of 2022, my cardio doc believes I should still take the miserable Eliquis twice daily. Eliquis pretty much makes my life a

Apixaban - Head injury
Hi, I just wanted to post about something I had not thought about. I fell and slightly banged my head, got up and although a bit shook up felt ok and carried on. About 4 days later I felt a slight headache but more of a fuzzy feeling which I can only describe as moving around in my head. I felt fine

Update on Mayo visit
Apparently it is an unacceptable reason to say: we cannot say why you had the second stroke while on
anticoagulants
and your INR level is perfect at 2.7 (my range for INR is 2.0-3.0) or where it came from.
