I’m so heartbroken to read so many of us struggling, but in a way feel rest assured I’m not the only one. Hats off to you ladies!
I was prescribed Ryeqo to stop my periods as I have large fibroids and horrendous bleeding each time I have my period
After 2 weeks of taking Ryeqo, I had to go to A&E with suspected DVT. Sadly the clots in my legs moved to both lungs and I’m now taking blood thinners for pulmonary emboli.
My Gynaecologist is worried about my next period despite having my first injection of Prostap last week as she said I will most definitely haemorrhage due to being on blood thinners.
Yesterday I had deep black blood and was hoping it was my period. (The waiting game is horrendous for me) Today though, the bleeding has stopped.
I was due on yesterday but wondered if it was the injection that may now delay my period. How soon after having the Prostrap injection did you bleed?
I would be so so grateful for any advice or for you to share your stories as being told when my next period comes could be life threatening is so scary.
Thanks so much in advance everyone. Feeling totally lost xx

So sorry to hear about some of the difficulties you’ve had. I’m 42 and took 2 shots of prostap in April and May. Removed a fibriod in June and my period came back in August. I did some hormone profile tests before the prostap. Hope this helps! All the best!
my periods stopped almost immediately when i first went onto this, it depends on how far into your cylcle they gave it to you, the deep black blood may be a small period however i would take some medical advice on that especially with you being on blood thinners.
prostap injections are designed to put you into a medically induced menopause so if this has stopped your periods then they shouldn't come back until the injections stop and even then it could take months for your periods to go back to normal. prostap injections is not usually a long term fix they are only usually prescribed for 3-6 months. sometimes longer but rarely.
i do wish you well and hope that they get you fixed soon. the info i have given is purely just what i know please see or speak to a gp or specialist. i am neither just had 20 years of hell with endometriosis!
Thank you so much for replying to me and hey......hopefully no more periods. I really do hope so as the outcome if I do looks pretty scary. Thanks again for all your help.
