Ferrittin level (Different Opinions)
Last Wednesday (26th July) I had my 3 monthly blood test in relation to my Myelofibrosis and asked for my Ferrittin level and TSATS to be checked also. The Nurse/Clinician found Ferrittin on the data base but not TSATS and was a bit baffled by the whole TSATS thing. I concluded that I would only get

Tiredness
Hi, I have been on beta blockers and blood thinners now for 5 days for AF. The beta blockers have slowed me down where as I haven’t got much energy to do anything. My pulse is 59 beats a minute, Should this pass as it’s getting me down and I feel a bit flat. The weather isn’t helping. I went to see

Is it Adrenal Insufficiency
I am down to 4.5mg Prednisolone. It has been up and down but OK. Two weeks or longer on this dose before I even start trying for 4mg. Yesterday I took the train for London for a DEXA scan and BT prior to seeing Rheumy next week. It was awful. The train was crowded with snotty coughing kids - standing

Personal advice.
The thought of
anticoagulants
concern as I have no experience of this. As such I’m facing the dilemma of accepting to take them.....and risk side effects, or not taking them and risking clots. I’m finding the decision extremely stressful and difficult.

Angiogram results
Hello, everyone. I hope you are all. I haven't posted on the BHF page for a while, but I have been following posts on here. I had an angiogram on Monday, 24th July. I was very nervous, but the team at the Cardiac Cebtre was brilliant and very understanding. The actual procedure was nothing like

Esophagus pain after cardioversion
I had a cardioversion for AF a week ago, been in NSR since then. It was my second one this month, previous one was 2 weeks before that. Since this last cardioversion I have had mild-to-moderate esophagus pain and some stomach pain. I can tell the chest pain is esophageal and not heart because its

Song and Dance ?
I was thinking of the best way to celebrate my eight month anniversary since my WMM (Wolf Mini Maze) in Tokyo by Dr Ohtsuka at the NewHeart Watanabe Hospital. I am still in NSR (normal sinus rhythm) and my divorce from AFib is finalised. As our friend Jim knows, I went a little mad (as you do) when

Cystocele/Rectocele repair all done
I'm almost 6 weeks after my repair surgery. Recovery not to bad. First two weeks I was warned were crucial and told not to do anything except rest, which I did. Luckily we had hot sunny weather so I literally layed outside sunbathing in-between medication, meals and sleeping. No pain as I kept taking

Post ablation short of breath
I am 74 years old. I had a catheter ablation 3 days ago having been in permanent Afib for 5 months. I have suffered from asthma since childhood & have an FEV of a 90 year old, or so I'm told. Nevertheless I was 3 months trekking in Nepal recently (Nov to January this year), hiking to 5,400 metres and

Ibs and meds for af
I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation 6 months ago. I also suffer from ibs-c. The main symptom of my ibs is pain in the colon. I can cope with it during the day and otc meds like buscopan help at night. I was prescribed anticoagulation in the form of apixaban 5mg bd. This is to reduce risk of stroke

Off the AF meds, scared!
Sinus rhythm restored and February 7th he took me off both the beta blockers and
anticoagulants
. I can’t help worrying about it but he is the expert. I can’t help feeling that once you’ve had AF you’re never going to live without noticing every heartbeat. .
