Dabigtran
After struggling with
anticoagulants
I am now trying Dabigatran/Pradaxa.After a month on a low dose my weight has increased ...nothing else has altered...I am eating less bread. ..in fact less overall. I eat little meat and don't drink alcohol. I do not want thus weight gain to continue.

methadone no longer helping
No source found I needed increase of Methadone to 10 mg twice daily due to
anticoagulants
and Blood pressure pills. Sleep was poor. Then 2 months ago I fractured a vertebra due to osteoporosis . It was agony. I was on palexia for pain with little relief. I was told due to methadone.

anticoagulants-or not..
I have read a number of articles which I think say that the protocol for when to add to the CHaDs s score for prescribing
anticoagulants
with AF was based on patients who were very obviously symptomatic whereas many newer patients have fewer symptoms and discover AF through smart watches / other devices

Arthritic knee, back and anticoagulants
I would be interested in anyone's method of coping with the pain of arthritis, the necessity of averting an AF stroke and the interaction of NSAID gels such as Piroxicam (Feldene) with
anticoagulants
.

PAF … ? Further echo
The cardiologist has discharged me back to the Gp , apart from ectopics & odd thumps/ bumps I am well on adizem & flecanide . 57 & female scoring 1 on chad vasc … so no
anticoagulants
til I’m 64. My question is should I be asking for another echo or something?

Can anyone help?
I have purchased some Deep Heat muscle rub thinking it would help my aches and pains, but on the leaflet enclosed it states that people taking
anticoagulants
should not use it owing to the ingredients interacting with this medication. I take Warfarin.

Aortic valve replacement
I have Atrial fibrillation for which I’ve had two catheter ablations which have kept my episodes mild , short lived and pretty infrequent but I have been on
anticoagulants
since 2017 which I tolerate comfortably.

My doctor seems to think ablation is the best so that I can eventually come off
anticoagulants
and therefore reduce the risk with the cavernoma. Trish5

He told me to stop taking
anticoagulants
immediately. So for the moment my journey here ends.I wish you all the very best in your AF journeys. Who knows i might be back if he's got it wrong 🤦♀️

An enquiry about the evidence base regarding anticoagulants - my reply to a post that just went missing…..
Maybe in this age of kardia and watches that give instant if simple ECG results, a new system of administering
anticoagulants
could develop based on home readings, much as diabetes is self managed.

Apixaban
I had a text from my GP to say that they are reducing my dose of Apixaban tablets from 5mg to 2.5mg It said this came about after "part of an audit looking at
anticoagulants
". Has anyone else had this news?

Asymptomatic
Hi - I have AFib and am on
anticoagulants
and heart rate medication. The thing is I never feel any palpitations of the usual symptoms of AF. My condition was only picked up as I was about to undergo an operation on my big toe!!

How long before ablation to start Edoxaban?
There seems to have been a flurry of recent posts about
anticoagulants
. And here’s another question from me. Does anyone know how long before my ablation I need to take the Edoxaban I’ve been prescribed?

Cannabidiol and anti coagulants
Based on the potential risk and limited research, patients should use caution and possibly avoid , using cannabidiol and its derivatives with oral
anticoagulants
. These case reports outline a potential pharmacokinetic interaction between cannabidiol and its derivatives with oral
anticoagulants
