aspirin
I've been taking anticoagulants for many years due to AF. I had a heart attach a few months back and I am now prescribed both aspirin and the anticoagulant. I queried this at the time and was told to take both. In certain circumstances this seems to be a combined treatment for patients with CAD and AF and that the benefits may out weigh the increased risk of bleeding. Obviously query this though with your cardiologist.
I don't understand why you can't see a GP. It's easy where I live. Phone 111 for advice. They can get you a GP appointment.
It's dreadful that you can't get an appointment with your GP but you will be able to see a doctor. If you call 111 and explain your situation they will give you an appointment with a doctor. It won't be with your own GP, it may be at a hospital or walk in centre but you will be able to see a doctor.
Aspirin has no place in stroke prevention with AF but may be required if you have other cardiac issues, especially things like stents or artificial valves so it is important to discuss with your medical team. If not medicaly required aspirin can be highly detrimental so best to find out.
Hi
I have known folks to take Aspirin and Anti-coagulant.
Low dose of Aspirin.
There has been research on the two, one or both.
They work differently.
Just watch for bleeding e.g nose bleeds etc.
BBs these are upped when either hypertension levels are high or heart rate is high, neither being controlled for your aF.
