heart attack caused by atrial fibrillation
In 2018 my husband had a minor stroke and was given clopidogeral as a blood thinner. He had investigations looking for the cause but none was found. He had a healthy heart with no signs of ischaemia. I September 2022 he accidentally mixed up his tablets and failed to take the blood thinner for two

Magnesium and the heart
I stopped taking my magnesium supplement (not prescribed) about a month ago in the hope that my persistent morning diarrhoea would clear up. It hasn't. But I have noticed, on my Fitbit records, that my sleep quality has gone right down, my resting heart rate has increased from 60 to 72, and my heart

Nattokinase Serrapeptase & Ablation
I have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and have been told I need an ablation. Unfortunately, I am a poor metabolizer of most medications, especially those I would need to take in order to have the ablation, i.e. blood thinners, medications for rate control, rhythm control and blood pressure. Genetic tests

BP Meds
Hi Does anyone have any idea if there are blood pressure medications that can be taken intravenously? The only medications I can tolerate have once again bitten me in the rear. Since November of last year I have tried 3 times and ended with severe IBS from these meds each time. Blatantly obvious

Another A&E visit
Ended up in A&E again 5am woke up with the racing heart again 140 beats per min. Tried calming myself breathing into a bag nothing worked so off again to A&E. The put me on a drip of something to slow it down. Left with blood thinners so the next time it happens they can use this one off pill that I

Any safe blood thinners
I've finally come completely off of ropinirole. Quite the battle. Now I'm on buprenorphine...about .04mg per day. I'm uptitrating gabapentin (currently at 300mg) in the hope of getting off of the bup and only on gabapentin. And now I've got Atrial fib acting up. Wondering if there are any blood thinners

Blood thinner options...
Diagnosed earlier this year. Working my way through due to uncomfortable physical side effects.... (Done edoxaban, rivaroxaban) on 5mg 2 x daily now. Does it follow that Apixaban if twice daily , is a lower dose therefore, more gentle on your stomach and your system? Wondering if there is ever truly

clopidogrel
Hi there My son had a stroke (clot) just over a year ago at age 48. He is still on Clopidogrel. Is anyone else on this one long term rather than an anticoagulant such as Edoxaban (which I’m on as have afib)? My son didn’t ask at his cardio appt and won’t be seeing anyone for some time. Thanks

Banging my head against a brick wall
I am feeling so tired and breathless. Just had a telephone appointment, my year follow up after ablation with a nurse, I haven’t once seen or heard from a doctor apart from the day of ablation to sign consent. I have since ablation, had a CABG because of triple vessel disease all through my private health

Breathlessness when walking up slight gradients/stairs
Further to my previous post about breathlessness, I finally had an audience with the Pope, masquerading as my GP (my he's aged a lot since the last time I saw him - mind you, haven't we all. My goal was to get a Acth test arranged, as I'm convinced my problem is adrenal related and I'm concerned about

Apixapan
I have received a letter today from my Haemotology Consultant regarding various issues. He has stated that I should stop my Tinzaparin blood thinner and switch to either Rivaroxaban 20mg daily or Apixaban 5mg twice daily. I have seen in a past post here that Rivaroxaban was listed as one of the blood
