Açai

Has anyone taken Açai powder for a supplement

I have PV and take 90 micrograms of peg interferon a week and a blood thinner .

It's know has the Açai berry but is technically a drupe not a berry .

It suppose to be really good for blood cancers ?

I just wanted to know before I start using a teaspoon of powder a day to see if it helps

Acai is rich in flavonoids and theoretically could be beneficial. There is a warning here about an Acai-chemotherapy potential interaction. mskcc.org/cancer-care/integ... I do not think this would apply to Pegsays; however, it is best to check with a medical professional who is familiar with complimentary health interventions. Not all docs have this knowledge. That is why I consult with an Integrative/Functional medicine doctor about the use of supplements. I also let my care team know if I decide to add something to what I am using.

Thank you hunter for your reply .

I will ask my care team if I can add this to my diet . I'm in England and I doubt they would refer me to an Integrative/Functional medicine doctor . I am still trying to access my blood results without any success, after asking my GP surgery for full access to my medical records they are still not showing up on my NHS App . When I ask my GP surgery for my blood results they say they haven't got the recent test results . It is so frustrating and I will be asking my hospital team about it when I speak with them on the 15th September 2023 .

Rant over lol !!

Rant on. Access to your records is a fundamental patient right. Apparently, some patient portals are not fully functional. Not sure why since it is so easy to do. Suggest you require a hard copy of your labs. If you are in their office, all they have to do is hit the print button. If all else fails, you can file a formal complaint to get things moving.

You may have to go private to access an Integrative or Functional medicine doc. That is what I do. I pay out-of-pocket. it is worth the investment.
