Not exactly ‘in the pink’

Hello everyone. Are there any people out there, that cough up pinkish phlegm. It’s only after lying down for 2 or 3 hours. I’m not quite sure if I’m starting to develop heart failure. I’ve been taking anticoagulants since 2014 and changed onto Apixaban about 16 months ago. Thanks in advance.

How are your gums? That is most likely reason. When was the last time you saw a dental hygienist?

Thanks for your reply Bob and I have considered that but I don’t think it is the problem. Just recently, a few weeks ago I developed a phlegmy sort of cough and it hasn’t completely subsided. I’m at a low ebb in recent times, due to loss of relatives and, of course, this isn’t helping with my exaggerated mood swings. CHEERS.

Please get this checked out. Anything that looks like blood is a red flag.

Could be a simple explanation but having lost my husband to a supposed simple explanation I urge you to get it checked out!

This sounds like fluid from your lungs because of the heart failure. You certainly need a CXR and possibly a bronchoscopy to rule out other causes of bleeding. Call your doc! Best etheral

With the normal explanation that most people here aren’t medical experts, it sounds a little like it could be Pulmonary Edema. Symptoms of this are often pink frothy phlegm. Worth getting checked out.

I would go to see your GP as it could mean that you are leaking a little bit of blood

Just check to be on the safe side

Hope all will be well
